Happy Monday CrossWinds, today Chris sits down with the Creative Arts Pastor - Derek Walker. Good Afternoon CrossWinds, today Chris talks with Dr. Steve Gerali about the class that he will be teaching for our phase 2 gathering - Steve’s first class was filled so we decided to add another class at 11am for anyone else who would like to sign up. Steve will be teaching about a hermeneutical (interpretation) perspective of scripture and will also be giving people resources to help understand ancient Greek and Hebrew. This class will be academic heavy and will challenge people to view scripture from a more broad perspective - also from a perspective that will look at culture and the times.

Today Chris talks with our High School Pastor Daniel Parsons - who will be teaching a Sunday evening class for our Phase 2 plan. They talk about Daniel’s inspiration for this class and how the courses he took in college lead to a life where he saw Jesus and social Justice go hand in hand. This class has a focus on a communal aspect of the Gospel that isn’t strictly read from a personal lens. This class will be academic as well as insightful and we hope you have the opportunity to attend.

Join us today as Chris talks with Small Group Pastor Sarah Lochelt - Sarah has been handling the Small Group sign ups for our Phase 1 plan of gathering. Now, Sarah is taking part of our Phase 2 plan by teaching a Sunday class here at CrossWinds. Her class is based on honest truth telling and will challenge participants to practice this, even if it is hard. Chris and Sarah sit down to discuss the class more in depth and what can you expect if you register for it. We hope you can join in on her class because it will be inspiring.

Just this past Saturday CrossWinds held a Town Hall discussion following the events of the George Floyd killing and many others. We had the honor of hearing stories from our POC community here at CrossWinds as well as answering some questions that were submitted from our congregation. It is important that we acknowledge what has happened and listen to the ones who have become all too familiar with injustices like these.

They are discussing what gathering looks like for EPIC (our high school ministry program) and what this additional social bubble looks like for the students. Daniel takes us through what Wednesday night small groups will be like now that phase one for CrossWinds is in effect. They also go over the plan for summer and a cool drive-through event that is happening for our student promotions this Sunday.
