There were 400 "silent" years between Malachi, the last book of the Old Testament, and The Gospels. What were some of the significant transitions that occurred before the Messiah entered the scene?

We discuss 4 poems in the latter part of Isaiah that beautifully and paradoxically present the Messiah of God - the new work God planned to do to restore His remnant and bring hope to a lost and dying world.

God wants a relationship with His people, not an association. His people back then thought if they maintained some association with God and be like the world around them at the same time they would be OK. That's like getting married and expecting your spouse to be OK with you being intimate with other people.
