December 21, 2022 - Family Traditions

As we prepare for the coming of the Christ child this Advent, we are reminded of the second coming of Christ as well. We live as children of the light because Jesus is the Eternal Light for us.

December 14, 2022 - I love the saying: “what the Old Testament concealed, the New Testament revealed.” Said another way: “the NT is the greatest commentary on the OT.” In order to grasp the depth of one, you need to see its connection to the other. Our devotion today is an appeal to drink deeply from the OT so that you can catch its references in the NT.

In our series, “Arise and Shine,” we’ve looked at how we are called to reflect the light, and how the light overcomes darkness. This week, we’ll look at a curious passage from Malachi and see that Jesus is the “Sun of Righteousness” who brings healing and destruction.

Time with Jesus changed Peter, and it changes us, too.

In a dark world, full of fear and uncertainty, Jesus reminded us who we are in Him. We are the salt that brings flavor to those around us and retards decay. We are the Light that provides clarity and safety to all who gather around it, and we are a safe refuge, a city on a hill, that protects all who are within its walls.

November 30, 2022 - We're finishing up Acts 3, noting that Peter uses every opportunity to talk about Jesus. It's amazing to see the Spirit's work in his life, as he using OT subjects to show that Jesus is the Christ.

Living in the light of Jesus, we prepare to celebrate His birth. Repenting of our sins, we put away the works of darkness and dress in the armor of light.

November 23, 2022 - Firm Foundations

This Sunday, we are blessed to have Pastor Michael Mattil as a guest preacher and liturgist. We’ll be celebrating Christ the King Sunday and remembering our role as His children, created to glorify Him.
