Legalism and Licentiousness are two sides of the same coin: they imagine that humanity can deal with sin, either by expanding the law or by ignoring it. But the Christian message is that mankind can’t solve the problem of sin, but that Jesus does.

During our “Junk Drawer Jesus” series, we’re getting rid of the things that make it hard to see the Gospel. This week, we’ll look at the ruler and how we often believe that our efforts can bring us closer to God. The truth, however, is that we already have the fullness of His blessings in Jesus.

Spring cleaning isn't just for your home—throughout Lent, we’ll be addressing our spiritual junk drawers. In our sermon series: “Junk Drawer Jesus,” we’re aiming to get rid of the things that make it hard for us to see Jesus. This week, we’ll look at the scale and our propensity to believe that enough good deeds can balance out our sin. Thankfully, Jesus offers us the better way of grace.

As we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday, we see Jesus give a glimpse of His glory to the disciples, and then set His sights on Jerusalem, where He would walk the path to the cross.

Ever been at the end of your rope? Have you had that moment where the warmth and comfort of the blanket made it really difficult to get up and move? When Jesus calls, we are invited to lay down the nets, rope, and blankets and follow him on a Kingdom adventure. 

Freely Giving: This Sunday, we reflect on the fact that everything we have is a gift from the Lord: both physically and spiritually. As we have freely received from His hand, we are sent to freely give. We have been blessed to be blessings to others. 

It is crucial for us to continue learning about the love of Christ and maturing into a deeper relationship with Him. 

According to God's Word, everyone is valued, because Jesus' love and truth and grace give us eternal value.
