Empathy for Enemies

As we conclude the Savior's Sermon series, we'll reflect on the challenging command of Christ: to love your enemy and to pray for those who persecute you.



Jesus calls His followers the salt of the earth and the light of the world, but what happens when our faith begins to blend into the background? In Matthew 5:13–20, we hear both a warning against a Christianity that makes no difference and the powerful promise that Christ has fulfilled the Law for us. Because our righteousness comes from Him, we are freed from hiding and sent to shine with courage and hope. You are not the light because you shine, but you shine because Christ is your light.

In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus turns our world upside down. The blessed life isn't about success or comfort, but recognizing our need for Him. In the Beatitudes, we learn that we're blessed not by our achievements, but because Christ died and rose for us.

Speak O Lord, For Your Servant Listens

We often ask God to speak so that life would be easier and clearer, but God speaks to draw us into faith, repentance, and trust. In His Word and in Jesus Christ, God speaks not to control our future, but to secure our salvation.

Forgive Me as I Forgive Others

This Sunday we reflect on the powerful prayer Jesus teaches us: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

As we hear both the weight of God’s Law and the comfort of Christ’s cross, we are reminded that forgiven people are shaped by grace to forgive others.

Jesus didn't come to a perfect world—He entered our darkness to save us from it. Sin makes monsters of us all, but Christ bore our evil on the cross. In Him, we're forgiven, redeemed, and promised a day when all tears will be wiped away.
