Cruising With Kayfabe

Kenny Omega vs Kazuchika Okada – Dominion 6.9 (2018)

This is the one. The grand finale. The culmination of two years of storytelling and one of the most legendary rivalries ever.
Okada vs Omega IV is a 2-out-of-3 falls match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. No time limit. No excuses. This was Omega’s last shot after failing three times before. Okada had just broken the record for the longest title reign in New Japan history. Everything about this felt massive.
We break down every fall, every shift in momentum, and every emotional beat. This was more than just a match  it was the end of an era. Emily went into this match knowing the history now, and watching her take it all in for the first time was a blast. From the callbacks to the brutal spots to the final fall, this was wrestling at its absolute peak

Kenny Omega vs Kazuchika Okada – G1 Climax 27 (2017)

Everything changes in part three.
Okada and Omega face off in the G1, but this time it’s not for the title  it’s about tournament points and proving a point. The time limit is shorter, the pace is faster, and Kenny comes in with the mindset that he has to beat Okada. It’s the first time he gets the job done, and he does it in under 30 minutes. We talk about how this match felt more explosive from the jump, how the previous two matches built the tension for this one, and what it meant for Omega to finally get that win. Emily wasn’t expecting it to go that fast or be that different from the first two, and her reaction to the quick momentum swings is gold.

Episode 2: Kenny Omega vs Kazuchika Okada – Dominion 6.11 (2017)

The rematch. The 60-minute draw. The match that made people realize this rivalry wasn’t just a flash in the pan, it was something special.
In part two, we watch Kenny and Okada go the full hour in a match that’s all about stamina, strategy, and pride. Omega didn’t walk out with the title, but he proved he belonged at the very top. This match showed just how evenly matched they were and just how much deeper the rivalry could go.
We break down the key moments, how both guys adjusted their styles from Wrestle Kingdom, and how this match turned the trilogy into a saga. Emily had no idea they went a full hour, and watching her react to the final stretch makes this episode a must-listen.

This episode is about one of AEW’s most intense rivalries, Swerve Strickland vs Hangman Adam Page. We’re breaking down the full story, from the first shot fired to the last blow landed.
We cover:

• Swerve showing up on Dynamite and calling out Hangman
• The personal shots that made this feel real — calling Hangman a failure, dragging his family into it
• WrestleDream and how Swerve shocked everyone by beating him in Seattle
• The insane Texas Death Match at Full Gear — probably the most violent match in AEW history
• What this feud did for both guys: Swerve stepping up as a future world champ, and Hangman showing he still has that fire
• How this rivalry helped build momentum heading into 2024 and reshaped the main event scene

This wasn’t just a feud for the sake of it. AEW gave it time, let it breathe, and it paid off in a big way. Swerve felt like a made man after this, and Hangman reminded people why he was AEW’s first real homegrown champ.

AEW launched with a core of young stars  MJF, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and Jungle Boy  but as the promotion has grown, so has its foundation. In this episode, Mongo and Emily break down the evolution of AEW’s Four Pillars and spotlight the new faces shaping the company’s future: Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland, Toni Storm, and Hangman Adam Page.
Why are these four now the ones holding it down? What happened to the originals? This conversation covers everything from in-ring growth to character reinvention, with a little love for AEW’s ongoing commitment to diversity, storytelling, and star power.
Who really defines AEW in 2025? Which pillar is ready to run the company? And why Timeless Toni might be the best of them all.

Matches involving forklifts, mimosa vats, and electric chairs
Cinematic chaos from Matt Hardy’s universe
The legendary “Invisible Man vs Invisible Stan”
Why some of these matches are so bad… they’re amazing
And how we secretly (or not-so-secretly) love them all

Join us as we laugh, cringe, and celebrate the absurdity that makes pro wrestling so damn fun.
