The UK government has temporarily blocked political donations by cryptocurrency and capped donations by UK citizens living overseas at £100,000 following recommendations by senior civil servant Philip Rycroft.

Rycroft was commissioned to carry out an independent report after Reform UK MP Nathan Gill was convicted of accepting bribes to promote Russian interests.
