Eric Altman has investigated close to 300 cases about bigfoot and cryptids. In the late 1990s, he formed the Southwestern Pennsylvania Bigfoot Study Group and became a volunteer field researcher for the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization- the BFRO. In 2000, he was appointed the Director of the PA Bigfoot Society, a position he  held until August 2014.
