I recently had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer Conn and our souls just connected. Jennifer is a spiritual educator and offers mediumship and clarity readings, retreats, and other amazing spirit work through her business, The Medium Experience.
As Jennifer has come into her space as a Medium, she comes from a place of urging both herself and others to trust themselves. Spirit is all about energy, frequency, and your inner work. She shares some beautiful insight into choosing yourself as you heal yourself and dig into the deep work.
When constantly pouring into others in acts of service, recharging is important. For Jennifer, she finds balance and grounding in being in the water, maintaining a healthy lifestyle with diet and exercise, and journaling. Many can be intimidated about starting a journaling routine, I have found myself specifically in a rut regarding what to write during my morning journaling. Jenniferâs advice: Ask questions, lots of questions. You donât have to always find the answers but seek thought and curiosity in giving yourself permission to admit what you do not know.
Jennifer embodies the human experience and the medium experience as one. If you want to stay connected and see beautiful things, be sure to follow The Medium Experience on Instagram where she does live Champagne Channeling every Friday. You can also find her on her website to book readings or learn about future events like her upcoming retreat, Je Vois. Jennifer also recently launched The Medium Experience podcast available on all platforms.
I cannot wait to dive into all of this beautiful advice, resources, and recommendations.

Ada Deferrari is a great friend of mine, and the owner of ADA Collection, the leading belt retailer in the United States. For 16 years Ada has been a design and style educator, teaching women to choose style over fashion.
ADA Collection has an unlikely origin story beginning with Adaâs completion of law school. During a stay in Argentina to learn about international law, she discovered and fell in love with their leather products. The beautiful handbags she brought back to her friends caught her eyes and she knew she was onto something. This is where her imagined career switched from international law to international business. After meeting with a factory, holding trunk shows, and selling to small boutiques her business grew. Even with economic setbacks along the way, Ada continued shifting her business from main handbags to an even more desired clothing accessory: Belts.Â
COVID changed the landscape of business for all entrepreneurs and while many have had hard times and setbacks, a lot of businesses have found success through innovation. During a time when stores were closed, orders were canceled, and ADA Collection was facing uncertain times, Ada branched out into Online Styling Courses. This really shifted the way they did business, putting a face, name, and style to âtheir girlâ. This new avenue for business brought a human-to-human connection to a previously only business-to-business company.Â
As a veteran entrepreneur Ada shares 3 Key lessons that remain important to her in her day to day business:Â
These little nuggets of inspiration mold and shape the way Ada does business and can be really valuable when youâre just getting started too!â
When it comes to not doing it alone, aside from expanding and building your desired team. Take Advice. Some of Adaâs best advice has been about staying hungry for more by learning, growing, and feeding her inspiration. Ada does this by building a Sunday habit of listening to her favorite entrepreneurial podcasts, like Crystal Uncorked! She also swears by the advice she was given to monitor her metrics and scoreboards. If you donât know this yet⌠You NEED to know your numbers.
I love talking book recommendations and Ada has one she raves about. The Road Less Stupid by Keith J. Cunningham. Ada gave this book a big thumbs up and I cannot wait to read it this weekend. My recent recommendation for books is $100M Offers by Alex Hormozi. Definitely check these two books out and let me know what you think!
Ada shares a ton of relatable tips and inspiration including her very special made-it-moment story about her first big sale. Be sure to check out ADA Collection on social media and shop their belts online just in time for the Summer 2022 belt trend!

The episode is jam-packed full of tips and good content for entrepreneurs and their businesses. Pete Mohr is an experienced entrepreneur, coach, and business expert. With Simplifying Entrepreneurship, he helps business owners understand the process and systems needed in their business to turn their frustrations into freedom and stop letting their business own them.
Pete is in the process of writing a book on the â5 Psâ, a premise on which he guides all his entrepreneurs as they create needed systems and processes.Â
The promise is based on how you can best help your client's biggest problem. Followed by an alignment of product, process, and people. Finally, the outcome is profit and by following the previous Ps, this is where freedom is enjoyed.
We discuss some tips based on something I struggle with, and I am sure many other business owners do as well. Working on the business versus working in the business and how youâre spending time. For me, there are so many things I love about working that when I do get those systems in place and I am having that âfreedomâ, I can feel a little lost. Pete talks about his âLove it or Leave itâ thinking game for entrepreneurs, where they really sort out the parts of the business they love doing and want more time to do and the parts they donât like and can delegate to gain and actually enjoy the freedom.
Itâs this system that gives Pete his name for âZone of Geniusâ as his âLove It Zoneâ. Peteâs âLove It Zoneâ is talking business with other entrepreneurs. If itâs sharing ideas, discovering processes, and figuring out systems, Pete wants to talk about it. Speaking of talking, Pete shares his favorite business tool. Loom. Loom is set up to record and link videos into the email. Pete doesnât like typing out long, drawn-out, over-detailed messages where the tone gets lost in translation. With Loom, he can talk it out with the recipient, share his screen, and really get his intended tone across.
I loved this conversation with Pete because we are a lot alike, we love to talk about all things business. You can find out more about him by checking out his websites and be sure to listen to my appearance on Peteâs podcast, Simplifying Entrepreneurship.

If youâve been a listener, you know that just before the end of season one, Dustin and I moved from California to our new home here in Colorado. Today in the midst of a gorgeous morning walk I am reflecting on the why behind our movement and want to share that with you.
During the pandemic, I became really strong in the habits of journaling and taking walks. Dustin and I would walk our California neighborhood, sometimes multiple times a day, on one of those walks I told him I was feeling pulled to move back to Colorado. Without question or hesitation, he was in.
Back then, I knew in my heart the reason I wanted to move was to be closer to family. I grew up in Colorado and my entire Dadâs side of the family is still here. I wanted to be closer to him, to my grandma, and feel that sense of family again. Since our move, that reason has only shown up stronger for me. Just recently, my Dadâs wife found a lump and was diagnosed with breast cancer. So not only are we able to just spend time with family but we can really show up and be a help to my dad and his wife when they need it.
If you get a chance to watch this recording, you will see the beautiful view I have as I speak to you from the reservoir bench. Everything about this property and our experiences since being here have shown me it was meant to be.
If you have the pull inside to do something new, make a big move, or take a chanceâŚ.my advice is to listen to that pull. We donât always fully understand the why behind these pulls we feel but I believe we will if we follow our hearts and put trust in them.

My cousin, D.L. Wennes "D" joins me in this episode as he prepares to launch his brand new business, Achieve Balance Counseling. D is a clinical therapist who provides both individual and couples therapy. Through his own struggles with mental illness and chemical dependency, he is in what he calls his "sober second act". D is finally breaking out on his own after a history of several passionless business attempts, he has found his stride and passion through his 6 years of being a therapist.
Anxiety and Starting a Business
D shares that one of his diagnoses is Generalized Anxiety, something that makes the leaps, hurdles, and risks of starting a business very scary. While he is rock solid when it comes to therapy, the other pieces and behind the scenes make for a lot of work. D's secret to getting through anxiety is supported. He has found support in his community, through his business partner, family, previous employers, and community resources. For him, self-doubt is enemy number 1 and he pushes past fear with affirmations and the support of others. With 82 clients following him to his private practice, it's more than enough to prove his future success.
Achieving Balance
Finally working in his Zone of Genius, D thrives on socializing and talking, and his unique ability to translate peoples' thoughts and feelings back to them through therapy. The theme and passion behind D's therapy approach is all about balance. His definition of recovery is, "staying balanced long enough to discover and nurture your purpose in life." D developed a chart for a balanced life that involves four key quadrants: 1. Work, Shelter, and Basic Needs, 2. Sleep and Relaxation, 3. Self-Care and Self Advancement, and 4. Socializing, Networking, and Giving-Back. In therapy, he helps his clients work on the barriers that block these elements of balance which can be anything from mental illness, dependency, addiction, childhood trauma and many more life events in his client's lives.
The Pandemic and Therapy
I'm not surprised to find that anxiety levels and therapy needs took a big rise during the COVID pandemic. D says that his long-term clients who face anxiety live the life of anxious feelings that others were feeling during the height of COVID all the time, pandemic or not. However, the isolation caused people to look inward and really forced a lot of people who would never seek therapy to get the help that they truly needed.
Showing up
D is firm in his path and as a therapist encourages his clients to not look back at what-ifs. When asked if he would change anything or have a "do-over", he said, no, he is who he is. Although, he does plan to build mentorship to his business at Achieving Balance Counseling, and be the encourager that he did not have along his journey. We all want to be encouragers to the people around us, and showing up for others is so important to me. D's advice for showing up for friends and family with anxiety or other mental illness is to not be the remedy but a consistent ear to listen.
You can find out more about Achieving Balance Counseling on D's website, Linked In, Facebook, and YouTube.

I first met David H. Lawrence XVII at a speaking event in 2017, since then I have had the pleasure to hear him speak several more times and each time we talk it is like the world stops. David has an impressive career across the entertainment industry from his 36-year career in radio, an extensive list of acting roles in well-known TV shows, as well as work in the voice acting and voice-over realm. Â
During our conversation, David opens up about the naysayers in his life and how that propelled him forward in his goals and ambitions. Many people have these barriers, whether it be a person telling them they can't do something or just a voice in their head that prevents them from getting started. I've spoken to myself about my fear of getting started with this very podcast. If your fear is about failing, David shares some great insight on why you should not be afraid to fail.Â
David has his very own recipe for success: "Do more of what works and less of what doesn't". But in order to figure out what works and what doesn't, you have to take the first step. David encourages people to use their failures to propel them toward success by knowing what to do less of and their success to grow more success by doing more of those behaviors. He shares this beautiful sentiment that there are probably so many amazing things the world has yet to experience because someone hasn't taken the first step to getting started. So⌠what are you waiting for?
Speaking of waiting. That's David's question for himself. When I asked him what he would change in a do-over across his life and career, David said he would have moved to LA and pursued an acting career earlier in life. What was he waiting for, is David's motivation behind that answer. While he values his career and all of the "acts" across his life, after experiencing the joy and value of his job as an actor, he wishes he could have had this sooner.Â
David has a lot of questions. My listeners know I am a very curious person and David's curiosities are nothing short of interesting. He shares that lately he's allowed himself to be open to the more "woo" aspects of the world and those have been his curiosity but his bigger questions revolve around the status of the world and its survival. Questions David is asking⌠Are we going to survive as a species? Is our world going to be around in 10 or 15 years? And we get a little political as he shares his perspective on today's leaders and the problems they are creating for our future.
David is not only accomplished as a radio personality, actor, and voice actor but he shares his other accomplishments as well. David is the creator of the Rehearsal Pro, an app designed to assist entertainers in memorizing their lines that are utilized by thousands of well-known individuals in the entertainment industry. He also provides training for the audibles ACX program as well as extensive voice-over training.Â

Are you looking to achieve success without the stress? Today, I am so excited to share 5 efficiencies I have integrated into my business and why they are so important.
Besides the obvious, efficiency is better, these new systems I have set up have brought me so much value. Utilizing new efficiencies has allowed us to plan ahead, we are ahead of the game instead of struggling to keep our heads above water. Planning ahead also allows room for unplanned events or emergencies. These things that inevitably pop up no longer lead to overwhelm and failure. We're also able to be more strategic because we have more time to work on things and more people functioning at optimal range, we can think critically about what we want in a project. And ultimately all of these things combined mean: Less Stress. Less stress is better for everybody, whether you're a business owner or an employee, an environment of the organization and minimal stress improves productivity and the business as a whole.
5 Efficiencies I Have Implemented in My Business:
Has this taken more of my time? Yes, it definitely has but I'm spending more time now to save time later. Honestly, adding these organizational and efficient pieces to my business has been fun for me because I see how big the benefit is going to be. These efficiencies are making way for some big things Crystal Media has in store. This September, we celebrate 10 years of business. And my most exciting news yet, I have signed a venue contract for my very own conference. EVOLVE, coming to Denver in 2023, be sure to check out all the details.Â

If you have been wondering about NFTs, how you can get involved, and what they can do for your business, or even if you are totally new to this, this episode is mind-blowing. In this interview with one of my favorite people ever, Stacey Murphy, we talk all about this insane new technology and what it's all about. Stacey is an award-winning serial entrepreneur, author, speaker, imaginative thinker, and founder of Rainbow Spiderwebs.
Zone of Genius
Staceyâs zone of genius is just amazing, she has the unique power of believing in YOU. She describes this talent as being able to see people's true desires and visions, think imaginatively about them, and envision them to be carried out in prosperity and abundance. Stacey came from a childhood that really required her to dig deep in believing in herself, making way for her gift to the world.
Where are Staceyâs Curiosities?
This question, which I love to ask my guests, actually came from Stacey herself. Staceyâs heart is really in a place of caring for and valuing our planet. Right now, she is asking some pretty profound and interesting questions:Â How can we harmonize technology and nature? How do we use emerging technology, specifically blockchain, with natural elements?
NFTs and Blockchain Technology
An NFT does not stand for âNew Fantastical technologyâ as Stacey so lovingly says but instead it is a Non Fungible Token. This means something that is unique, scarce, and cannot be exchanged once for one with anything on the planet. NFTs are symbols of the shift to a creator economy. Artists will create a painting, for example, they can put it on the Blockchain and sell it and continuously receive a royalty on every sale thereafter, unlike in physical reality where they would only benefit from the initial sale. The Blockchain creates a ledger where you can view the history of any sale of an NFT. Sales of NFT on the blockchain must be purchased with crypto via a digital wallet.
Stacey Murphy
Stacey and I discuss our experiences with NFTs, some unique projects that are making big impacts, and even NFT ideas for Crystal Uncorked. You can find out more about her at her personal website, as well as via Rainbow Spiderwebs. Stacey urges people to learn more about NFTs and the Blockchain now because it is going to change the world and the way we operate, she recommends learning more at NFTS.tips.

Imagine growing your low sales, low-performing retail store into a multi-store, multi-million dollar operation. Bob Negen did just that during his 2 decades as a retail owner of a kite turned toy store. Now he is the co-founder of WhizBang! Retail Training, where he has transitioned his knowledge into helping other retailers find success in their businesses.
The Why Behind WhizBang!
Founded in November 1999, WhizBang! Retail Training was born after the struggle but the ultimate success of Bobâs store. He built this retail business during a time when there was no internet, email, or social media. There were no at your fingers resources like there are today. As he spent time figuring it out himself, through trial and error and a lot of hard work, Bob knew that along with his partner Susan they had the qualities and skills to really teach others how to be successful without making the mistakes and taking the time it took them.
Â
Zone of Genius
Many, including Bobâs wife and business partner Susan, would say Bobâs skill of pride is his speaking. They are not wrong, if you havenât heard Bob speak, you need to, he is incredible. However, Bob has another unique skill that he labels his Zone of Genius. Bob has the ability to see independent retail businesses at a higher level, he can scope out the strategy, the plan, the ideas, and see it all play out to success. This is great for Bobâs clients as he helps them work towards success.
Doing It Over
I asked Bob, if he could go back and change anything, what would it be. He brings it back to his kite store with the simple change of finding more mentors. Again, Bobâs business was built in a time prior to the technology and resources we have today. That doesnât mean there weren't resources out there. He knows he could have done more to identify the mentors that could have helped him find his success even faster, and there was more work to have been done with the mentors he did have. Now, as the co-founder of WhizBang! Retail Trainer, strives to be that mentor and resource for his clients.
Secret Weapons
Bobâs secret weapons are not what youâd expect. A really foundational idea for Bob and his success is the importance of mindfulness and a focus on health. He recommends and describes some truly cool apps and technology that allow Bob to sift through the data, understand his health and wellness, and ultimately perform better.
10% Happier - A Mindfulness lesson, followed by a guided meditation
Inner Balance by HeartMath - Neurofeedback from meditation, that provides real-time feedback on coherence on whether your brain and heart are in sync. Meditation and Mindfulness meet technology.
WellTory - An analytical app that provides three readings: Stress, Energy, and Overall health and provides lifestyle recommendations based on your data.
WhizBang! Retail Training
Be on the lookout for new things from WhizBang! Including the 2022 Retail Success Summit, the launch of the Retail Sales Academy Plus, Bobâs new book, and my special Social Media Day 2022 the day prior to the summit. I'm in a bit of a transitional period in my life. After 13 years of building a business, I sold it, and I'm still figuring out what's next. (Do we ever really have it all figuredâŚ
But one thing I know for sure: I LOVE podcasting. So I'm not waiting until I have some big plan to get back on the mic.
Every week, I'm hitting record and sharing whatever's on my mind. Life, business, random thoughts, things I'm loving or questioning, and maybe an interesting guest here and there.
No scripts. No perfectly packaged lessons. Just real life, real conversations, and me being me.
New episodes every Wednesday. Come hang out! I'm so happy to be back on the mic. đ
