Brenham Cubs put their own spin to “Coachella” celebrating Cubchella this Homecoming 2020
Jennifer Fuchs and Elizabeth Kolby discuss plans.
Student Council, teachers, and the Brenham High School Cubs have been searching for creative, safe ways to celebrate Homecoming 2020. Every school year, Cubs look forward to the excitement of Homecoming-and this year is no different. Despite the annual dance and homecoming parade cancellations, preparations and planning have begun for high school students.
The student body’s Homecoming 2020 theme will follow a Brenham Cub spin to “Coachella,” celebrating Cubchella for spirit week. The weekly theme begins on Monday, November 9:
Music Monday: Wear your favorite band themed shirt.
Rest up Tuesday: Wear school appropriate pajamas.
Cubchella Wednesday: Wear sequins, tie-dye, or dress as if you were going to a music festival. Please ensure that your outfit is school appropriate.
Glow on Thursday: Wear neon or black lite attire.
Cub Pride Vibe Friday: Wear your class colors.
Seniors wear green
Juniors wear yellow
Sophomores wear blue
Freshmen wear red.
Other campuses are encouraged to wear green.
As of now, Wednesday, November 11, Brenham High School will be hosting a community-wide pep rally at Cub stadium at 6:00 p.m. Spectators will be able to enjoy beats delivered by the Brenham High School Band, followed by a special recognition for our Veterans by the ROTC and the choir; see a magnificent performance delivered by the Belles, and chant their favorite cheer with the high school cheerleaders. That night, the Homecoming Court will be introduced and ride out on ATV’s with their homecoming partner. The fun-filled afternoon will be free to students and the community! The festivities offer a safe way for students to come together as a community and celebrate in a new way.
After countless weeks of anticipation, the Homecoming Queen and King will be announced on Friday, November 13, at the Cubs vs. Elgin game. This year’s homecoming game will be at 7:00 p.m. at Cub stadium. Tickets for the game can be purchased on the athletic page of the Brenham ISD website.
As always, we want every event to be an enjoyable experience for all fans. To avoid UIL sanctions, we must abide by the safety precautions put in place. Masks will be required to attend all homecoming events.
