Cult Film Showdown: Enter the Octagon Archives - We Talk Podcasts

In the future, every famous person will be a movie star for 85 minutes. UHF continues our 85 Minutes Of Fame season with Weird Al Yankovic's only feature film!

George Newman (Yankovic) is a daydreamer whose hyperactive imagination keeps him from holding a steady job. His uncle decides George would be the perfect man to manage Channel 62, a television station which is losing money and viewers fast.

When George replaces the station's reruns with bizarre programs such as "Stanley Spadowski's Clubhouse", "Wheel of Fish" and "Raul's Wild Kingdom", ratings begin to soar again. Mean-spirited and cynical mogul R.J. Fletcher becomes furious that the UHF station is getting better ratings than his network's programming.

Because of gambling debts, the uncle is forced to consider selling the station to Fletcher, who would only too happily shut it down (he cannot legally own two stations in the same town). George and his friends organize a 48-hour telethon to raise the money by selling investment stock from Channel 62 to save the town's new favorite station.

So sit back and enjoy the laughs as The Cult Film Showdown turns that TV dial to channel 62!

In the future, every famous person will be a movie star for 85 minutes. Viva Knievel! continues our 85 Minutes Of Fame season with a film starring Evel Knievel acting (unconvincingly) as himself.

As the legendary stuntman travels to Mexico to prepare for one of his greatest stunts yet, he takes time out of his schedule to meet his fans, help out lonely orphans, and try to get his alcoholic mechanic (inexplicably played by legendary dancer Gene Kelly) to reconcile with his son.

While all of this is going on, Evel's main rival is plotting to have Evel killed and then get rich by using the Team Evel 18-wheeler to smuggle cocaine into America.

So sit back and enjoy the laughs as The Cult Film Showdown jumps twelve school buses in their search for the ultimate B Movie!

Welcome to a very special 200th episode of the One Fall Podcast. What started nearly five years ago has grown into something very special to me. To celebrate this I interviewed four people that have been on the show. Doug W, Geoff B, Morten K, and the original co-host Josh A. I also take time to get interviewed myself by Morten. In these interviews, we talk about how we all became pro wrestling fans, and what we enjoy about the current product. This is a long show so below will have timestamps so you can jump to whoever you want to listen to! Thank you to We Talk Podcast for all their support, and thank you to our fearless listeners. We couldn't have done this without you.

In the future, every famous person will be a movie star for 85 minutes. Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare kicks off our 85 Minutes Of Fame season with this star vehicle for rock sensation Jon Mikl Thor.

John Triton, lead singer of the hair-metal band, Triton, is looking for the perfect place to find inspiration to record the band's upcoming new LP. Before long, the musicians along with their girlfriends arrive at a weathered recording studio in the middle of nowhere to practice for the next couple of weeks, unbeknownst to them that a family's mysterious murder in the very same farmhouse has imbued the place with a pulsating black force.

Eventually, as the young rockers disappear, one by one, John will soon find himself in a furious confrontation against the Prince of Darkness himself. But can a mere mortal alone defeat the demonic hordes?

So sit back and enjoy the laughs as The Cult Film Showdown jumps in the van for a low budget nightmare!

Let's see if we can do a little We Talk Music math here. Brian Ray writes the coolest music on the planet, and he performs the coolest music on the globe, so Brian Ray equals the coolest musician on earth, correct?

Brian Ray joins the podcast thanks to his latest single "Got A New Thing", and he and host Morten have a great conversation. Whether it's talking the surreal moment that was his debut as Paul McCartney's guitarist at the Super Bowl, having Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler play harmonica on one of his tunes, or going in depth on the art of crafting a song this is a great chat, check it out!
