These are the days of futures past as The Cult Film Showdown looks into the World of Tomorrow with Equalizer 2000! This season the team looks at films that took place in a distant future that is now our past! (Trust us, it will make sense).

In post-nuclear Alaska, a fascist group ("The Ownership") battles rebels in hopes of possessing a massive weapon—the "Equalizer 2000" of the title, created by the ex-Ownership Captain Slade who joins the rebellion to defeat Mayor Lawton, who killed Slade's father (The Ownership's field commander) and he wants to kill General MacLaine, The Ownership's leader, to be the new leader.

So sit back and enjoy the laughs as The Cult Film Showdown tries to sort out this tale of rebellion and fascism and fascist rebellion and rebellion against fascists.

After listening to this episode about Equalizer 2000, check in with The Octagon, our on-going ranking of the movies covered in The Cult Film Showdown.

These are the days of futures past as The Cult Film Showdown looks into the World of Tomorrow with Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky! This season the team looks at films that took place in a distant future that is now our past! (Trust us, it will make sense).

With the privatization of all correctional facilities by the year 2001, prisons have become faceless commercial enterprises, interested only in profit. Under those circumstances, an unfortunate young convict sentenced to 10 years in prison for manslaughter, Riki-Oh Saiga, enters the prison's gates unaware that the place is governed by the vicious monocular Warden Dan and his pitiless lackeys, the dreadful Gang of Four. However, there is far more to Riki-Oh than meets the eye, as he is a devastating weapon of martial arts who defies corruption, thirsting to make all those who wronged him pay the price.

And they will.

So sit back and enjoy the laughs as The Cult Film Showdown find out if Riki-Oh is so fine. So fine he blows our minds. Hey, Riki!
