We're kicking off season TWO of the Cultivate podcast with a special guest and a question: "What are beauty, goodness, and truth in the Christian tradition?" We're answering questions like:
- How have Christians historically understood beauty, goodness, and truth?
- How are these things linked in Christian thought? Can they be separated?
- Does art need to have all three qualities to be good Christian art?
- How can we pursue beauty, goodness, and truth?
Joining us this week is Brian Brown! Brian is the founder and executive director of the Anselm Society, a Colorado-based organization dedicated to a renaissance of the Christian imagination. His writing, teaching, and podcasting focuses on equipping Christians to see, live, and work like people of heaven.
Brian is the co-editor ofWhy We Create: Reflections on the Creator, the Creation, and Creating (Square Halo Books, 2023), and a contributing author to several scholarly works includingWhy Place Matters (ed. Wilfred McClay) and Faithful Creativity (forthcoming, ed. Matthew Niermann). He also authored the arts & culture section of theAlmanac of American Philanthropy (ed. Karl Zinsmeister, 2016).
Brian lives in Colorado Springs with his wife Christina and two children, where they enjoy singing, gardening, and less impressive-sounding activities.
