When was the last time that you were uncomfortable?

I’ve asked that question many times in my life. I ask my team during our morning meetings. I’ve asked my friends when they were fearful about an upcoming project or tryout. I ask myself when I’m getting ready in the morning. Ultimately, I use this question as a tool to gauge growth.

You see, growth and discomfort go hand in hand. As motivational speaker Brian Tracy once said, “You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” Growing pains don’t stop when we’re kids. You will experience a certain level of discomfort anytime there is a major change or alteration within your life.
