Cutscene

An anime so nice we're gonna watch it twice. And by twice we mean we're watching the rest of season 1.

In a world full of brilliant heroes, it’s the trust of fans that turns heroes into superheroes. If a hero loses the people’s trust, they lose their special abilities. Trust value is collected, quantified, and used to determine a hero’s ranking, displayed on their wrist. Every two years, the top heroes go to a tournament to fight, determine new trust values, and earn their rankings.

Next episode we're going to talk about 13-24, so be ready.

Well, we weren't supposed to catch feels from this anime but here we are. This was a great watch and all three of us HIGHLY recommend it.

On the way home from school one day, Konoha Koga rescues Satoko Kusagakure, a ninja who escaped her village. Soon, pursuers from the village show up in search of Satoko only to be deftly dealt with by Konoha. As it turns out, the unassuming high schooler is actually an assassin. Thus, the potentially cutthroat cohabitation of a ninja and an assassin begins!

Our next anime is TO BE HERO X:

Major trigger warnings for anyone that is thinking about watching this anime (but for some reason is here with us).

We knew that we were getting into something when we chose this anime, but we weren't properly prepared for everything that was coming.

This is the story of Ai, an introverted girl whose fate is forever changed when she acquires a mysterious “Wonder Egg” from a deserted arcade. That night, her dreams blend into reality, and as other girls obtain their own Wonder Eggs, Ai discovers new friends—and the magic within herself.

Our next anime is A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof.

Get ready for a semester of Business 101 everyone because we're watching Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four!

In an alternate fantasy world, the Demon King reigns with a formidable army led by his Four Heavenly Kings. One happens to be Uchimura Denosuke, a normal salaryman unexpectedly plucked from his mundane life by the Demon King himself. But even in this new realm, Uchimura is bestowed no particular powers. Can he survive treacherous missions with only the knowledge of an office worker?

Our next anime is WONDER EGG PRIORITY. There are trigger warnings for this anime so only watch if you're comfortable with depictions of self-harm, sexual violence, and suicide.

We're back with our first anime of 2025, My Deer Friend Nokotan. This is our first go at doing the entire series rather than splitting it up.

Koshi Torako has everyone fooled. Her classmates see her as the perfect honor student, unaware of her secret delinquent past. But her new picturesque school life is thrown into chaos when she bumps into Shikanoko Noko, a girl with antlers! Mayhem seems to follow this strange doe-eyed girl. Who, or what, is she?

Sorry we were gone for so long but don't worry, we have a plan!

Cutscene will be taking a hiatus at the start of the new year, but we'll be back for more anime goodness!

Incomplete thoughts are the real horror story.

I guess we can accept a happy ending instead of everyone's dead...

According to the Republic of San Magnolia, their ongoing war against the Giadian Empire has no casualties—however, that is mere propaganda. While the silver-haired Alba of the Republic's eighty-five sectors live safely behind protective walls, those of different appearances are interned in a secret eighty-sixth faction. Known within the military as the Eighty-Six, they are forced to fight against the Empire's autonomous Legion under the command of the Republican "Handlers."

Vladilena Milizé is assigned to the Spearhead squadron to replace their previous Handler. Shunned by her peers for being a fellow Eighty-Six supporter, she continues to fight against their inhumane discrimination. Shinei Nouzen is the captain of the Spearhead squadron. Infamous for being the sole survivor of every squadron he's been in, he insists on shouldering the names and wishes of his fallen comrades. When the fates of these young souls from two different worlds collide, will it ignite the spark that lights their path to salvation, or will they burn themselves in the flames of despair?

We're going to try a spooky anime for one last time, if this isn't spooky we give up. Our next anime is Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre!
