I was able to catch up with Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall backstage on a recent Monsters of Oz tour stop. This is THE show that they have been teasing us in North America with for years. Full of pyro, a spinning drum cage, and all the songs that everyone from hardcore Parkway fans and casual fans alike will love. Beyond that we dig further into the album Darker Still and the title track and why it's a landmark for the band and himself as a songwriter and human.

The Memphis-based Sleep Theory blew up on TikTok and Reels earlier this year with the song "Another Way." Then, they met Memphis native and Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers who offered them an opening slot on their headline tour, now their latest single "Numb" is a top 20 rock single. Yeah, it's good to be Sleep Theory, but who is Sleep Theory? Band founder and singer Cullen Moore is here to tell us.

Earlier this year Seattle guitarist/songwriter Ayron Jones put out his second album Chronicles of the Kid and now officially has his second number-one rock song in "Blood in the Water." He's been on tour constantly since the pandemic restrictions lifted and it's showing in these songs. Also, he has said he wants to be "the guitarist for a generation," well, that sparked my interest. It's always fun to have Ayron Jones on both The Cutting Edge Countdown and Cutter's Rockcast.

Scott Stapp has become one of the most recognizable voices in rock and dare I say a good friend. He and I will be hosting an event for Operation Song in Green Bay, WI on October 6th where we'll pair veterans up with songwriters, including Scott and tell their amazing stories through song.

In the '90s and early 2000s, his band Creed became one of the biggest rock bands in the world, selling millions of albums and selling out packed stadiums around the world. Around 2005 the band went their separate ways with part of the band forming Alter Bridge and Scott starting a successful solo career. After one more album a few years later, there's been no news about Creed in over a decade. That has changed as they are back together for a cruise in 2024. On top of that Scott has a heavy new solo song out and a new solo album scheduled for next year.

When In This Moment debuted they were a thrash metal band with a badass female singer. Since then they've reinvented themselves a bit into this theatrical powerhouse and haven't looked back. But with two new songs out and a full album called Godmode coming on October 27th you can hear the reinvigoration of the band. Lead singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth are here to catch us up on the world of In This Moment and get ready for an amazing tour happening this fall with them, Ice Nine Kills, Avatar, and New Years Day.

This weekend the Scranton, PA band Another Day Dawns is releasing a new single called "Hesitate" and there has been a buzz building about this band for the past couple of years. We in the world of rock outside their fans may not know much about this band yet. So once again we're telling the origin story of a rock band on the rise. Fresh off their tour opening for Breaking Benjamin and Bush, lead singer Dakota Sean and I go behind the scenes for a band you need to watch.

It's the band Above Snakes from Boston (I did that in my head like the Sam Adams commercials.) Johnny Skulls on vocals and Dax Dabs on guitar join us this week to tell us the origin story of this nu-metal style band Above Snakes. Their latest single "Crash N' Burn" is available now and definitely turning some heads.

Ryan McCombs is a rare breed, doing double duty as the lead singer of not one but two active touring hard rock bands. His original band Soil is currently out celebrating their breakthrough album Scars, while his other band Drowning Pool is also doing a ton of touring. Two bands that during the hight of nu-metal were all the rage. It's high time we catch up with our old friend and fellow midwesterner Ryan McCombs.

Asking Alexandria have been going for a long time and after making a huge impact in the early metalcore days they've taken over rock radio with a string of hits and are now set to release their 8th album Where Do We Go From Here? Why is it called that? Ben clears up why as he joins us from his house in London where he's taking care of his kids and his wife. Ben also has big news to share as to why we haven't seen him on stage with the band on this past tour from Asking Alexandria.

It's Sevendust Truthkiller Day! It's the 13th studio album from the legendary Sevendust and to celebrate I caught up with singer and all-around great human Lajon Witherspoon for a quick conversation about Truthkiller. Sevendust also signed a new record deal with Napalm Records for this album and will be hitting the road with Alter Bridge and Mammouth WVH next month, then with Static-X this fall. Oh, and it turns out that in our adult live we both ride Harleys but in our younger live we both had Pontiac Sunfires!
