For the first time in months Kaytie and I were in the same room together. We had a lot to catch up on including how dating during a pandemic has been working out. Also you know what, we have thoughts about the world and what's going on and maybe it's high time we get it off our chests.

Joining me with a translator from their home in Mongolia is Gala, throat singer and horsehead fiddle player from the Mongolian hard rock band The Hu. This band has taken the rock world by storm in the past couple of years. Even though they don't speak english and all the songs are in their native tongue they have been winning over fans world wide. Now personally I've never interviewed someone with a translator before so be patient, but this ended up being one of my favorite conversations in recent memory.

Chris Bishop from the band Crobot joined from his friend's studio in Austin, TX via Instagram live to talk guitars and to jam a little. Oh we totally did some vodka shots together.

Concerts at this point seem to be extinct for the year 2020. With every major tour getting canceled or being postponed we thought it would be a good idea to talk to a concert promoter. Ryan isn't just any concert promoter though. He owns National Event Promotions, the company Kaytie and I work hand and hand with on many of the major shows around our home area in Wisconsin. He also books a few different venues around the midwest and has a major hand in booking the 2nd stage for the festival Rock USA.

Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless joined Kaytie and I from quarantine to talk about this new song "Death by Rock and Roll" which is the title track of a new album coming later this year. We also get a glimpse into the life of Taylor and just how important it was to work with Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil of Soundgarden on this new album. Oh and we learn of another special guest. This is mental health awareness and Taylor has some good words to say to anyone who is struggling.

Volbeat bass player Kasper Boye Larsen joined the band in 2016, but as he tells us here he's been around the band since their inception. Calling in from his home in the country of Denmark we get into this, the new record, what's going on with touring plans and so much more.

From his home in Ohio we caught Starset lead singer Dustin Bates in the middle of watching his stocks. The stock market is just one of many obsession's for reclusive singer. His main obsession though remains music and art. Starset put out their third album 'Divisions' last September and now with the release of their latest single "Trials" we decided it was time to catch up. (Really it was just to see his puppy Ernie.)

Pop Evil may have just released two of their best songs to date. That's saying something about a band who has had multiple number one singles in their career. Kaytie and I got singer Leigh Kakaty on a chat to talk about these new tunes, acoustic performances from the living room, and the (bro) love that Leigh and I share for one another.

It's been a little bit since Kaytie and I have been able to do a host episode of the Rockcast. Like always our conversation has gone into unexpected territory. Like why is Kaytie trying to date during a world wide pandemic? Why I need a break from parenting? And, a discussion about some of our favorite underrated bands. Oh and as for the dating profile? To be honest I've been following In This Moment since the very beginning. They were a metal band and I at the time hosted a metal radio show. So when Maria Brink said she'd join me from quarantine for a quick conversation I of course jumped on it. We talk the new album 'Mother,' the visual and artist aspect of In This Moment and even how these new cover songs came about.
