Cutter's RockCast

You know Jamey Jasta as the lead singer and front man for Hatebreed. You may remember Jamey as the host of MTV2's Headbanger's Ball, or maybe from his very popular podcast The Jasta Show. There's also his solo band simply called Jasta. Oh and there was this band he did called Kingdom of Sorrow. Jamey is a busy dude, but an extremely talented one at that. What an honor for me to have Jamey do the Rockcast with me. We talk metal, we talk punk, we talk mainstream rock, we go through riffs, songwriting, podcasting and a ton more. Of course we also get deep into the new Jasta recod 'The Lost Chapters Vol. 2' which is due out on December 13th. And there's some Hatebreed news in here as well.

Before you hit play, Jamey and I did this once before a few weeks ago and due to some technical difficulties the whole conversation was not saved. This is a re-do and we talk a little at the beginning about how this happens sometimes.

Adam Gontier is the lead singer of the band Saint Asonia. A band that he started with Mike Mushok of Staind after he left Three Days Grace. Now back with their second record 'Flawed Design' and a top ten song that features Sully Erna of Godsmack it's time to catch up with Adam.

I honestly can't remember why this episode is titled Grammys and Sex. We def go through the grammy nominations for the 4 rock categories that came out this week. It's Kaytie and I so I'm sure there's also some sort of sexual commentary.

You know Clint Lowery as the guitarist for the band Sevendust and also maybe from Dark New Day and even his work with Seether. After writing and working on it for a few years, Clint is about to release his first solo album, 'God Bless the Renegades' due out on January 31st. The first single is out now called "Kings" and if you know or have been a fan Clint's previous work you'll immediately fall in love with it. Clint gives us the breakdown on the album, why now was the time and his up coming tour with Alter Bridge. Plus listen to the end for an update on Sevendust.

With Kaytie being on vacation I decided to invite some friends to co-host this week's episode of Cutter's Rockcast. I wanted to get into metal-core, death-core and whatever other sub genre name you want to come up with. Plus of course the art of the "blegh."

Eric Vanlerberghe is one of the singers for the band I Prevail. I caught up with Eric backstage in Chicago during the Degenerates Tour. The tour that features A Day To Remember headlining, I Prevail, Beartooth and Can't Swim. We dig into their latest album 'Trauma,' what our favorite songs are, the intense theme of the album and why Eric thinks it has resonated with so many people. Plus of course some thoughts on this incredible tour.

Today the Las Vegas based band Otherwise joined me live on Razor 94.7/104.7 to promote their show with Blacktop Mojo. We talked about their new record 'Defy' which comes out next Friday November 8th. They also played 2 songs acoustic including a cover of the 80's pop song "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears. I'm posting this as it was heard on the air. Enjoy!
