  • Rockcast 81 - Backstage with Shinedown
Last week backstage at Rock USA in Oshkosh, WI Kaytie and I had a little fun with our old friends, Brent Smith and Zach Myers of Shinedown. Kaytie ate donuts, we made sex jokes and of course talked about Shinedown. What Shinedown means to rock, what Shinedown means to this festival, 10 years of Sound of Madness, their new album Attention, Attention and more.

  • Rockcast 80 - Behind The New Music With Caleb Shomo of Beartooth
Earlier in the week I got a phone call that said something to the effect of "Caleb needs to play you the new Beartooth this weekend at Rock USA." I'm like "suuuuuure he does" Well it turns out instead we had a long conversation about the making of the new Beartooth album which is due out later this year. • Rockcast at Rock USA - Day 1
Kaytie and I are hosting another Rock USA at Ford Festival Park in Oshkosh, WI. This one is special because we get to have conversations with some of our favorite bands and musicians in front of an audience at a giant rock festival. Even if that means sometimes the audio gets a little crappy. On day one we taked to DJ Ashba, Halestorm, Elias from Nonpoint, Matt from Pop Evil, Chris Jericho, Bad Omens and Matt & Chris from Like a Storm. Remember these conversations happened live on Razor 94.7/104.7 and the audio is not perfect, but we did our best.

  • Rockcast 79 - Anal about music
Kaytie had been asking me for months what goes into my music making decisions when it comes to programming our Active Rock radio station and our Classic Rock radio station. So we decided to have that conversation for the Rockcast. It's us though so be forewarned that the first ten minutes is not about music.

  • Rockcast 78 - Grunge, Then and Now
The legendary Alice in Chains announced the details on their new album this week and that got us thinking, what are all the rest of the legendary grunge bands up to? Not just the bands themselves but the members of those bands as well.

  • Rockcast 77 - Like a Storm Catacombs with Matt Brooks
Matt Brooks is the guitarist for the band that he formed in New Zealand with his brothers Ken and Chris called Like a Storm. On the eve of the release of their 3rd album 'Catacombs' it's high time to catch up with an old friend. Kaytie, Matt and I talk music, talk the band, their upcoming tour with Godsmack and Shinedown. We even talk the world politics (but in a good way...kinda.) And of course we talk about the new album.

  • Rockcast 76 - Be a Good Human
June is Pride month and after experiencing my first Pride festival, Kaytie and I got to talking about being open, about being who we are as individuals, (after some poop talk of course, it's us what did you expect?) At the end of the day it is just about being good humans.

After having this discussion we left some people out of the conversation who are out as gay or bisexual in the world of rock, Plus of course trans-gendered rock stars like Laura Jane Grace or Mina Caputo. Just be you and don't judge others for things they can't control. As funny and stupid as we tend to be the message here is love, period.
