Zach Myers is the guitar player for one of North America's biggest bands, Shinedown. Zach and his singer Brent Smith have been doing some one of shows as Smith & Myers. It's all acoustic and it's one of the most incredible shows you can see. Ahead of their show on January 5th Zach sat down with Kaytie to catch up on everything Shinedown. First and foremost I can't count, but I digress. Kaytie and I received this email about the music we play on our home base radio station Razor 94.7. The email inspired a conversation about the perception of what you actually hear on the radio and what you think you hear. Also why certain songs or bands are played versus others. It's a question we've been asked over and over again and hopefully this will help explain why things are they way they are. Remember every radio station is different and every person's likes and dislikes are different. Be kind to your local radio station and to each other.

Brock Lindow is the lead singer of the metal band 36 Crazyfists. He has also been the afternoon radio host on KZND in Anchorage, AK. 36 Crazyfists started in the Northeast and Brock is from Alaska and in between stints of playing rockstar, he's played radio DJ. On this Rockcast we get the history of the band and how being a lead singer in a metal band and a radio DJ work together. Plus Kaytie fangirls.

With all of the sexual harassment and assault being brought to light in the entertainment business we felt maybe it was time for a dumb guy and two women to dissect the issues on the music business side of it. To help us do that, Kaytie and Cutter are joined by Haleigh Dever. Hales was most recently doing nights on The Blitz in Columbus, OH until she was let go this past summer. She now has been tour managing the band My Ticket Home while managing two others. On top of that she is helping L.A. Lloyd for his rock syndicated show. Buckle in this conversation isn't the easiest but it needed to happen.

After some random ridiculousness, Cutter and Kaytie dive into this year's Grammy Nominations and the shear lack of rock categories at award shows

Jacboby Shaddix of Papa Roach once told his guitar player Jerry Horton and myself that we look so much alike we could be brothers. I don't see it but hey what the hell. Always amazing to catch up with Jerry who's one of my favorite guitar players in modern rock. We did joke around about being each other's doppelganger at the beginning of the conversation, but we were cut off. We then picked up the conversation there. Papa Roach's new album is called 'Crooked Teeth' and they'll be playing a few X-mas shows in December.

With the announcement of Jeff Gutt as the new frontman for Stone Temple Pilots, Kaytie and I decided to discuss the "replacements" in rock. We dissected the bands that have been successful with new members and those who haven't, along with tons of our usual ridiculousness.

In light of 60 people being kicked out of an A Perfect Circle show for recording and taking pictures with their phones, Kaytie and I ask the question: Is it worth it? For years bands and venues alike have said no recording devices of any kind will be permitted into the show. Now with technology everyone has a recording device in their pocket, but what's too much?
