  • MY THOUGHTS MONDAY #118- Getting Coached To Become a Better Coach
“How do you know it’s not going to be worth your time until you do it?”

“The only way that you’re going to be able to really figure out how to fit someone else’s ideas into your principles is to sit down and talk to those people about their ideas and your principles.”

This My Thoughts Monday is brought to you by Vald Performance, the team behind the NordBord, ForceDecks, the GroinBar and HumanTrak. With all their products providing evidence-based solutions to performance professionals so they can get the right information, for the right decision, at the right time. Make sure to go check out all their great products at: www.valdperformance.com

Over the past couple weeks I’ve done some pretty deep self evaluation with how I have been programming, and this has led me to look for some different “methods” to add some variety to our programming. I share my goals of being coached, and what I really hope that reaching out to other coaches to get assistance in my programming leads to in this weeks My Thoughts Monday. We are hoping to provide the best possible content for strength coaches with each of our shows. If feel this could provide value for anyone else in the strength and conditioning field please feel free to share.

What off ice abilities correlate strongest to elite hockey players?

What on ice abilities correlate strongest to the skill of playing the sport of hockey?

    3) What’s your escape?

Aside from family, I love to write poetry and music.

  • MY THOUGHTS MONDAY #117- I’m Sorry, But There Is No Magic Number
“Doing what the game demands means taking a step back and understanding what that individual needs to be the best that individual can be.”

In our small portion in the world of athletics, strength and conditioning practitioners want to find a magic number of “how strong is strong enough” when it comes to general exercises and transfer to speed and power. In this weeks My Thoughts Monday I give my 2 cents on that, and why it may be a tireless core where the answer may never be cut and dry.

We are hoping to provide the best possible content for strength coaches with each of our shows. If feel this could provide value for anyone else in the strength and conditioning field please feel free to share.
