How do the stories we tell shape the future of the Church?
In the first interview of Season 6, Nick Warnes sits down with minister and public theologian Trey Ferguson to explore the power of language, public faith, and faithful imagination. Together, they discuss how telling a better story can help the Church build trust, cultivate belonging, and faithfully engage the world around us.
Trey is a minister and public theologian who likes playing with words. So that’s what he does. Whether it be with tweets, videos, essays, sermonic presentations, Bible studies, podcasts, or speaking engagements of other sorts, he’s always trying to figure out how to provoke an image in a seeker with some combination of words. When he’s not playing with words, he’s usually apologizing to his wife Jessica for playing too much, teaching his children to play too much, or letting some sports team disappoint him again.
