  • First Contact
My intention with this sci-fi inspired track was to disturb. I wanted to create a sense of alienness, unnaturalness, deep unsettlement.
    I hope I spooked you!

  • Last Rocket From Earth
I was combining memories of H.G. Well's "Things To Come" black and white science-fiction classic movie (based on his 1933 novel), and Elon Musk's vision of a human city on Mars. I envisioned Well's dystopian vision coming true, and Musk's last Space X rocket to Mars being the final rocket ship to leave Earth before we descend into conflict.
I used some voice samples in Logic to build up a story along the lines above.
There are clearly some technical difficulties with leaking coolant and a break down in communications, with the ground crew insisting that the the ship "Go...Go, Go!". Luckily they leave Earth safely, on their way to Musk's Martian city.

  • World Gone To Hell
As the world willingly slides into a new religious dark age, I thought I'd have some fun exploring a jazz funk end to it all...think of me as the band playing as the Titanic sank.
Seriously love those keyboard sounds, so just had to combine them into a track. I hope you enjoy it, especially the funereal ending.

I often find images via Google Advanced Search, and always select the "free to use commercially with modification" licensing option (and then credit the image maker in my track description...unless it specifically says no accreditation is required).
In this case I searched for "World Gone To Hell" as I'd already settled on my track title after having created the track.
I thought the young lady's self identification as the "Queen Of Hell", and her image title of "world Gone Insane" suited my vibe. So, there you have it.

  • Simulacrum City
This is a futuristic rock fantasy, not based on any book or film. Just something I made up.
    I hope you like it!

  • Love And Betrayal
All instruments played manually in GarageBand, except most of the drumming was the Smart version of the Live Rock drum kit (with a few manually played elements).

  • Girl From A Far Realm
This track started with the synthesiser, followed by an electronic drum kit track then an alternative rock drum kit track both of which followed the synth at different moments throughout the track. The mallets were added last, and seemed to add to a sense of otherness I felt as a I created the track.
I imagined a young looking creature old beyond imagining, dark and intense.

  • The Ruin
I wanted to create a soundscape that spoke of lost, forgotten places. I came across this image by mehmet and then the music I was creating began to make sense to me.
    I hope you like it.

  • The Franklin Expedition
Captain Sir John Franklin's ill-fated expedition set out to find the North-West passage in 1845, aboard HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. The ships got locked in ice near King William Island in the Canadian Arctic.
Setting out over the ice, the entire expedition of 129 men was slowly lost to hypothermia, starvation, lead poisoning (due to the canned food) and scurvy in the frozen wasteland.
Expeditions to discover their fate took place regularly over the intervening years, with the sunken wreck of the HMS Erebus discovered in 2014, and the discovery of the wreck of the HMS Terror in 2016.
