In 1241, while Batu Khan and the Golden Horde were preparing to invade Austria, Italy, and Germany, Ögedei Khan died. This forced Batu to withdraw to Karakorum to participate in selecting the next Great Khan.
But what if Ögedei had lived, and Batu had continued his invasion of Europe?
Nick joins us to discuss this What If? in history.
