“Dad, Can We Talk?” episodes

  • Episode 82: Jake Loveland

I received an email a few weeks back from Jake's assistant saying that he had been following the podcast and would love to be a guest on the show. Being that he is way out in Utah, we set it up to meet virtually. As always, we got pretty deep about this thing called fatherhood. We discussed topics such as work/life balance, postpartum depression with dads, marriage, and living life without compromise. Jake also is the host of Tenaciously Human Podcast. You can follow him at www.tenaciouslyhuman.com.

  • Episode 81: HiThatDadGuy

Episode 81 had me talking fatherhood with a dad hailing all the way from England, UK. It's crazy because even though he is way over in the eastern hemisphere, we still deal with some of the same challenges as dads. He kept it real concerning not having a relationship with his dad, his struggle to balance life and work, and many other things. This was one of those convos that could have easily continued for many hours (y'all know I like to talk)😂. We had so many things in common.

  • Episode 80: Malachi Gross

Another milestone set, episode 80! 20 away from 100! I reached out to a brother way out in Tulsa, OK on Instagram for this episode. He is a professional life coach who has worked with the likes of Toby Keith, Bernice King, and Myles Monroe. He is also an Emmy Award winning film producer. For 2hrs I sat back and soaked in much wisdom from him concerning life principles including the importance of meditation, Black Wall Street, giving yourself grace, growing up as a pastor's kid, and allowing our kids to talk through their problems.

  • Episode 79: Carl Claridy AKA "Mr. Go Get It" & Carl Gleezy

We recorded episode 79 outside of a coffee shop in downtown Gainesville, so excuse the extra sounds in the background. But this was my 2nd episode that features both son and father. I met these two at the Muck City Music Showcase a few weeks back. We noticed the dad standing at the front of the stage really turning up for his son and I thought it was an interesting dynamic. So it was only right that I got together with both of them to chop it up about family and fatherhood.

  • Episode 78: Terrell Jenkins

I sat down with another member of the bald head crew for episode 78😂 We met back in 2010 when he was my supervisor at UPS. Listen, I used to give my man pure hell every morning for no reason😅 He used to always tell me I needed to grow up. Thankfully I did. It was only right that I had bruh on as a guest and he came with wisdom. I learned a lot in this one. He has 21 years of experience in this dad game so I was all ears.

After a quick hiatus, I sat down with my boy Jon Bon, the Gainesville legend himself. We got into all things fatherhood, coparenting, his reputation, losing his dad at 12, the effects of his incarceration, and many other things. Be looking forward to hearing more from the big homie in the future.
