This episode is from a video I did called “How Much Screen Time is Too Much for Kids?” Parents are always wanting to know how much screen time is too much for kids. It seems like we just can't get away from screens. School, entertainment, and even social activity all now revolves around screens. I go over the recommended screen time for babies, the recommended screen time for toddlers, and the screen time recommended for kids and teens. It seems the actual amount of screen time our kids are using is not in line with the recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAoP) and the World Health Organization (WHO). I also discuss some of the effects of too much screen time on our kids. What are the warnings signs we need to look out for and how are they affecting our kids. This episode is from a video I did called “How to Discipline a Toddler” Disciplining a toddler seems to be a highly sought after topic as it can be difficult. Learning how to discipline a toddler forces us to take a different approach as what we do by instinct typically doesn’t work . The strategies I discuss in this episode are not typically what we as fathers do nor how we were dealt with as children. Most fathers really mean punishment when they are talking about disciplining a toddler. Be sure to check out the Dad University Membership at https://www.daduniversity.com

This episode is from a video I did called "10 Things Dads Should Never Say to Their Child". Words can be damaging and can potentially have long term effects on the child. We do need to be careful about what we say to our children and be mindful of how our words can effect them. Of course as they get older we teach them resilience and that words aren't as important but because we are their parents, what we say has a lot of value. I hope you enjoy this episode. Today’s episode is about a difficult and sensitive subject. The title for this episode is “Men Dealing With a Miscarriage - What To Do & How To Support Her”. This is the audio of a video I recorded for YouTube after a few requests for this topic. Men dealing with a miscarriage is not something that is often (if ever) discussed. It's important we end the stigma associated with miscarriage and allow men to know they no longer need to live in silence. Men are often surprised to learn that many couples experience a miscarriage and they are not alone in their feelings and thoughts about it. It can really feel isolating and difficult to deal with when you feel like you are going through it alone. Be sure to check out the Dad University Membership at https://www.daduniversity.com
This episode is from a video I did called “Which Parenting Style is Best?”
In this episode I go over the origins of the 4 major parenting styles: authoritarian, permissive, uninvolved/neglectful, and authoritative. I discuss what each is about and the various impact they can have on children. Choosing your style of parenting is important as it can effect the child and help guide the decisions you make as a father. While many dads choose authoritarian, we discuss if there are other options to not only be strict, but doing it in a more positive way.
