Daryl Bem coined the term "Exotic Becomes Erotic" (EBE) to describe his historic social developmental theory of sexual orientation in 1997, which, controversial at the time, is not without its challenges today.
Still, EBE theory holds promise for explaining the processes by which diapers and ABDL-related ageplay may become eroticized in early infancy, late childhood, and early adolecence.
Together, developmental psychologist Dr. Richard Sprott of TASHRA, social psychologist Dr. Jennifer Bosson of USF, and your host, ABDL sexologist, Dr. Ethan Haymovitz reimagine how EBE may explain what we have come to understand as Adult Baby and Diaper Lover behaviors, identities, and eroticism and romantic relationships in adulthood.
We encourage continued conversation about this important subject and welcome your messages by direct email communications!

Real talk: ABDL community premised upon discretion is both understandable and healthy, but anonymity is neither understandable nor healthy. In fact, identity concealment is deeply unhealthy, as we explore today with Ben Kudler, LCSW.
We agree that the time is now to celebrate - IRL - our shared experiences, meet other ABDLs, and have the time of our lives at events like *Diaperactive* and *NYC ABDL*, where community leaders don't paper over the windows to restrict the collective joy that is ABDL.
Acclaimed mainstream pornstar Draven Navarro, whom we all know and love as ABDL "Little Donny", and I discuss "The Best Little Boy in the World" Hypothesis.
Research indicates that gay and bisexual men work tirelessly to overcompensate for a lifetime of internalized shame and stigma at a steep emotional cost, and probably to the detriment of our phsyical health, too. We may be able to sit on the tenure track at Harvard or Yale, or be ripped muscle men with high-power jobs in the porn industry, or even run for President these days, but in the end of the day, we faggots always have a lot to prove. Our sexuality alone renders us as subversive: a public threat.
Think about this, ABDL gay brothers: we are on double duty. Just ask me and little donny. We both love diapers. And we have a lot to prove.
Dr. Ethan Haymovitz has nothing more to say about this episode...just watch and learn, babies. xoxo.
Well, we lost 90% of the footage and audio for what would have been a lovely episode...but, unless you enjoy hearing sound effects on repeat ("mwah mwah mwah"), you don't want to mess with that trainwreck. At least this outtake is worth something, I suspect, for posterity. If for nothing else, for me and you. Love you, Don. xo.
In this episode of Daddy Dialogues, Dr. Ethan Haymovitz and guest host Alexa Alvarado explore the emergence of ABDL (Adult Baby Diaper Lover) identity and community from the ever-changing and historic emergence of paraphilic infantilism. Dr. Haymovitz discuss the historical context, definitions, and evolving perceptions of infantilism, including the influence of Freudian theories and the impact of the DSM on understanding these behaviors. Dr. Ethan Haymovitz also shares his personal reflections on identity within the ABDL community and the implications for individuals today. Keywords: ABDL, paraphilic infantilism, sexology, adult baby, history, Freud, DSM, sexuality, mental health, community.
Introducing Season 2 of Daddy Dialogues with Dr. Ethan Haymovitz. Trigger warning: ABDL Out of the Shadows is a threat to every cliched echo chamber of a closet you've been living in forever now. Courage is key. Unlock the door. Thank me in a decade. Peace, love, and joy for now. xoxo
