  • Histories Idiots Remembering Reagan: Reaganomics History Uncensored Ep. 10
    History Uncensored Ep. 10
Welcome to History Uncensored presenting Histories Idiots.
Reaganomics, what it was, its impact and the results of policy.
Due to the extensive list of resources for this episode, you can find them all at this link. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JHTMzfEjy2hXn61f–3IFwKA_K-7t7OU
    Enjoy!
    What the Freak is Reaganomics?
“This Administration’s objective will be a healthy, vigorous, growing economy that provides equal opportunities for all Americans, with no barriers born of bigotry or discrimination. Putting America back to work means putting all Americans back to work. Ending inflation means freeing all Americans from the terror of runaway living costs. All must share in the productive work of this ’new beginning,’ and all must share in the bounty of a revived economy.” ~Reagan
He is remembered for a Booming Economy, why? Please tell me why I couldn’t find stuff that supported this argument especially when you begin looking at the hard numbers.
When we take a hard look at the numbers nothing holds up, well not nothing the wealthy hold up. They literally are the only group that saw their wages increase in the 1980s. Everyone else, Freak em. They don’t need money all that money up top will just kind of fall down to the bottom.
NEWS FLASH! that stuff doesn’t work. It didn’t work then and it sure as hell is not working now. I’m not here to argue politics I just tell you about the facts, about historiographical conjecture that ruins the image you hold in your mind of history. So enjoy this episode of Reaganomics as I tear down that Freaking wall like an East German trying to escape.
He is remembered for all of the wrong reasons and I see us on a similar path and we need to stand up and make a change.
    Reaganomics
Sorry, I went on a bit of a bender or rant or whatever there, I want to get back to the topic at hand explaining to you in the best try and make sense of this skullduggery way as possible.
Reaganomics is a type of economic policy that is based on myth. This idea that you can increase spending and lower taxes and somehow the economy will get a boost and you will erase the national debt.
Too much government was the problem, too many taxes, too much regulation on banks and places of business. The individual has the right o their own path without government and policies standing in the way of achieving their dreams. All of that sounds great in practice, doesn’t it? No wonder he won a second term.
It was sweeping reform, it was juvenile and hastily done and has set back this country’s conservative economic policy more than 40 years.
Don’t worry I will go over each of the administration’s legacies and decipher the data and present it to you in a hopefully meaningful way. We now know what they were trying to accomplish but let’s discuss the reality of his policies and their legacy impact.
Here is what Reagan’s policies did.
Reduced the top marginal income tax bracket from 70% to 28%
Lowered corporate income tax from 48% to 34%
During Reagan’s presidency, the federal debt held by the public nearly tripled in nominal terms, from $738 billion to $2.1 trillion.[79] This led to the U.S. moving from the world’s largest international creditor to the world’s largest debtor nation.[5] Reagan described the new debt as the “greatest disappointment” of his presidency.[35]
The federal deficit as a percentage of GDP rose from 2.5% of GDP in the fiscal year 1981 to a peak of 5.7% of GDP in 1983, then fell to 2.7% GDP in 1989.[80]
Total federal outlays averaged of 21.8% of GDP from 1981–88, versus the 1974–1980 average of 20.1% of GDP. This was the highest of any President from Carter through Obama.[81]
Total federal revenues averaged 17.7% of GDP from 1981–88, versus the 1974–80 average of 17.6% of GDP.[82]
Federal individual income tax revenues fell from 8.7% of GDP in 1980 to a trough of 7.5% of GDP in 1984, then rose to 7.8% of GDP in 1988.[83]
    The Numbers we hear.
During Raegan’s administration, these are the number

  • History Uncensored Ep 9: Remembering Reagan Part 1
    Remembering Reagan
    Histories Idiots

Ronald Reagan was born February 6th, 1911 and will forever be immortalized as the 40th president of the united states of America.

I have not done such a recent figure in history yet, but I believe that some of the mistakes that Reagan made during his time as president of the united states sent us into a spiral and pushed us toward one of the most unequal periods of life in the United States.

He is often looked back as a good president, his economics plans seemed to have worked and he really took to the war on drugs. He told Gorbachev to tear down that wall and many other Reaganisms over the course of his presidency.

There are certain aspects that some, or most do not like to remember about his time in the white house. We don’t like to remember the war on Race, the deregulation of financial institutions which lead to the collapse of the economy in 2008 and 1990.

We don’t like to remember the arms deals with Iran and the money sent to fund central American guerilla warfare.

Let us look first to who Ronald Reagan was, he was a small-town man born to poor parents in Illinois. He eventually became an actor, a motivational speaker then as a politician gaining fame for his “time for choosing” speech in 1964.

I will have the audio available to listen to on the website, if nothing else it provides a look at both his personal motivations and can be looked at as the beginning of his corruption in government. His opinions shared in that speech change drastically by the time he reaches the oval office.

I do not blame the man for failing to reach the white house, I do not want to be seen as a miser of history and distortion of facts so before I go any further along this path I want to reiterate a few things.

This is a podcast about Real “history” I can not say fact because most of history is observation and personal reflection on the topic. But this history, the stuff I will share with you today and in the following few episodes are facts. You can hate me, I am not here to be liked. You can try and discredit me, good luck I have no credit anywhere except maybe with my wife and children.

You can check my sources four or five times but do not blame me for sharing important truths to the public, do not blame me for your closed mind. Look instead to your neighbors, your friends, your colleagues and all those whom you love and cherish and relish in all of the opportunity we as humanity have in sharing unique ideas that can expand our mindset. Being stuck in the left or right has gotten us into this mess. We need to find a way out, so I want to start with the truth; not as I see it but as history should and with a speculative eye for detail does see it.
Before 1962 Reagan was a registered Democrat, then registering with the republican party became governor of California. In 1967 where he repeatedly got into trouble for solving problems with violence, including an incident which is remembered as Bloody Thursday where 111 police officers were injured and one student University of California, Berkely student was killed. This only happened after Reagan Sent in the police officers during a peaceful protest, originally to discuss the Arab-Isreali conflict.

“If it takes a bloodbath, let’s get it over with. No More appeasement”

Reagan's terms as governor helped to shape the policies he would pursue in his later political career as president. By campaigning on a platform of sending "the welfare bums back to work," he spoke out against the idea of the welfare state. He also strongly advocated the Republican ideal of less government regulation of the economy, including that of undue federal taxation
He failed to run for President of the United States twice before finally being elected following Jimmy Carter’s failed presidency.

First, on the list, Reagan’s war on drugs and holy shit was this a problem. A little background then the goods.

President Nixon declared the war on drugs in 1971 af

  • History Uncensored Ep. 8 Wu Zetian The Dragon Empress
To better understand Wu Zhou, or Wu Zetians rise in power in the 7th century A.D. let us take a quick trip down memory lane in china during that period starting with the Sui dynasty.

A lesson on women in Chinese history, their roles and the patriarchal society of ancient and modern Chinese culture.

    http://factsanddetails.com/china/cat3/sub9/entry-5562.html

According to the Encyclopedia of Sexuality: “In its earliest history, China was a matriarchal society, until Confucius and Mencius defined the superior-inferior relationship between men and women as heaven-ordained more than two thousand years ago. In traditional Chinese society, women should observe the Three Obediences and the Four Virtues. Women were to be obedient to the father and elder brothers when young, to the husband when married, and to the sons when widowed. Thus the Chinese women were controlled and dominated by men from cradle to grave.

The ideal of feminine behavior created a dependent being, at once inferior, passive, and obedient. Thus for more than 2,000 years, for the vast majority of Chinese women, belonging to a home was the only means to economic survival, but they had no right to select a husband, let alone the right to divorce or to remarry if widowed. They had no right to their physical bodies. Those who defied such institutionalized oppression were persecuted, ostracized, and sometimes driven to suicide.

“The functional importance of all women in traditional China lay in their reproductive role. In a patriarchal and authoritarian society, this reproductive function took the form of reproducing male descendents. Since descent was patrilineal, a woman's position within her natal family was temporary and of no great importance. The predominant patrilineal household model, in combination with early marriage, meant that a young girl often left home before she was of significant labor value to her natal family. Hence, education or development of publicly useful skills for a girl was not encouraged in any way. Marriage was arranged by the parents with the family interests of continuity by bearing male children and running an efficient household in mind. Her position and security within her husband's family remained ambiguous until she produced male heirs. [Then she might become manipulative and exploitive. (Lau)] In addition to the wife's reproductive duties, the strict sexual division of labor demanded that she undertake total responsibility for childcare, cooking, cleaning, and other domestic tasks. Women were like slaves or merchandise."

In a traditional male' dominated Confucian family, the eldest son is held in the highest esteem and is responsible for carrying on the family name and lineage, keeping property in the family and presiding over ancestral rites.

The preference for boy babies over girls in Asian society is tied up in part in the Confucian belief that a male heir is necessary to carry on the family name, provide leadership for the family, and take  Confucius famously said that a good woman is an illiterate one. Women often suffered under the Confucian system. Not only are they ordered around by men, they are often ordered around by each other in very vicious or mean ways. Older sisters have traditionally pushed their younger sisters around with impunity, and mothers of sons are notorious for treating their daughters-in-law like servants.

“When walking, don't turn your head; when talking, don't open your mouth wide; when sitting, don't move your knees; when standing, don't rustle your skirts; when happy, don't exult with loud laughter; when angry, don't raise your voice. The inner and outer quarters are each distinct; the sexes should be segregated. Don't peer over the outer wall or go beyond the outer courtyard. If you have to go outside, cover your face; if you peep outside, conceal yourself as much as possible. Do not be on familiar terms with men outside the family; have nothing to do with women of bad character. Esta

A Brief History Of Ancient Greece

Greek history can be said to have started around 1600 BC, when the Indo-Europeans invaded the Greek mainland. The so-called Indo-Europeans were the group of people sharing the same language but not necessarily of the same ethnic race, who lived in the region between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. They started migrating beginning around 4000 BC. Some migrated toward Europe and some toward Iran and India. A branch of the migrants moved into Greece around 1600 BC. People had lived in Greece for a long time before that event and an advanced Minoan culture had flourished in the Aegean islands, centering in Crete. These indigenous people are believed to have been of a different race from the Indo-Europeans, both culturally and linguistically. The palace of Knossos in the northern part of Crete, excavated by Arthur Evans in 1899, was the center of the Minoan civilization.

The title Kamaeu, occurs in the Pylos and Knossos tablets. It refers probably to specific persons and not to titles. The persons that bore this title belonged to the lower social classes and included a "slave of the god" and a baker. The words doero and doera of the palace texts mean the slaves or the slaves who worked in the service of different individuals or the palace.

    Ancient Greek Class system
male citizens - three groups: landed aristocrats (aristoi), poorer farmers (periokoi) and the middle class (artisans and traders).
semi-free labourers (e.g the helots of Sparta).
women - belonging to all of the above male groups but without citizen rights.
children - categorised as below 18 years generally.
slaves - the douloi who had civil or military duties.
foreigners -  non-residents (xenoi) or foreign residents (metoikoi) who were below male citizens in status.

Conversely, there are no records of a large-scale Greek slave revolt comparable to that of Spartacus in Rome.[145] It can probably be explained by the relative dispersion of Greek slaves, which would have prevented any large-scale planning.[146] Slave revolts were rare, even in Rome. Individual acts of rebellion of slaves against their master, though scarce, are not unheard of; a judicial speech mentions the attempted murder of his master by a boy slave, not 12 years old.[147]

    From

Unlike Christian ethics, labor itself was not regarded as a virtue in classical
Greece. There were two reasons for this. First, it was believed that citizens should

have as much free time as possible so that they could devote their time to participa-
tion in government. (Note that a Greek word for labor is ascholia, a negation of

scholè, leisure.) Second, it was believed that it was not good for a free man to work
    for others.

    Labourers
Greek society included a significantly larger proportion of labourers than slaves. These were semi-free workers, wholly dependent on their employer. The most famous example is the helot class of Sparta. These dependents were not the property of a parti

    Columbus The Idiot Part 2.
Lies murder rape and syphilis an American Hero!

Welcome to History Uncensored where I don’t give a freak what you learned in History Class!
Seriously I don’t this is part two of Columbus and I really recommend going back and listening to episode 1.

Listen Close today stuff is about to get real… If you find this interesting share this motherfreaker on social media will ya! It would mean the world to me. Also, Subscribe! I bet my wife I could get 50 subscribers by the end of July… Right now I am horribly losing that battle and she is smug!

We are going to be talking about Columbus again and I wanted to start with a funny story. At least I thought it was funny.

1974 “Indians” claim Italy by right of Discovery

Italy what we think/ remember as the cradle of Western Civilization woke up in 1974 to realize that they had never been discovered.

Seth you twat, haven't peopled been living in Italy for like thousands of years? Oh that is most assuredly right astute listener!

But at 11 O’clock Sept 24 Chief of the American Indian Tribe of the Chippewas stepped off his plane in full garb and claimed possession of Italy “by right of Discovery”

With no Ill will in mind, no harboring murderous thoughts the Chippewa chief was making a point. “What right had Columbus to Discover America when it was already inhabited for thousands of years? The same right that I have to come now to Italy and claim to have discovered your country” End quote- man this guy is smart, that is what we remember in our history books though… Columbus with his three ships set sail and discovered a place where people were living.

It’s hard to think that or remember that textbooks do not always tell the truth. Either by omission or outright lies, we are subjected to as readers and students the opinions of the author/s on whatever subject we are reading. We are also subject to whatever biased knowledge they use as their base for study.

A third Lens, as humans it is often difficult to picture viewpoints of those not immediately involved in an experience. We see two opposing views, we don't always see the future ramifications or the often confusing lead up to the altercation. Another thing we miss is how the actions of a few can affect the many.

Here, in studying Columbus how many of you have thought about Africans and the impact it had on their society and their future African American Ancestors.

What do I mean, I want to let those thoughts settle on you for a bit as we get down to the History of Genocide, Lies, rape, and exploitation. For that, we need to take a step back into Columbus’ world in 1492 and continue on the path we started during the last episode. The “Discovery” by Chuckle-Headed Columbus.

We kind of know the rest after that right? RIGHHHHT?

But first a brief over view from the previous podcast

On April 17, 1492, Ferdinand and Isabella, the Catholic monarchs of Castile, signed the Capitulations of Santa Fe, the agreement by which Christopher Columbus, one-time wool-weaving apprentice in Savona, Italy, undertook a voyage of discovery to the western Atlantic. Columbus was in his forty-first year. After forsaking his father’s loom in Savona he had spent some nine years in obscurity in Portugal, where his only known occupations were those of petty trader in sugar for an Italian commercial firm and maker and purveyor of maps and marine charts in collaboration with his younger brother Bartolomé. During this period he married a poor but aristocratic young Portuguese woman who bore him a son; he also supposedly made one or more sea voyages in an unidentified capacity. Some t

  • Histories Idiots Christopher Columbus
Welcome To History Uncensored podcast with me Seth Michels

Today we are going to be adding a new outlet to the channel Histories Idiots.

This is the part we get to have fun and demolish someone’s good name, they may have made some bad choices, they may have done some good. One thing is for certain they were all Idiots!
I had a lot of choices to go through when selecting my idiot for this first episode.

So here is what I am going to do, I’m going to kick a horse that is almost dead!

It is important to remember when exploring history to consider the source, their statements and examine them with keen interest.
That horse, the man we have a holiday after the one the only Cristoforo Columbo, Cristobal Colon’ or otherwise known as Christopher Syphilis(probably his actual middle name) Columbus the psychopath from Spain.

This document is the from the journal of Columbus in his voyage of 1492. The meaning of this voyage is highly contested. On the one hand, it is witness to the tremendous vitality and verve of late medieval and early modern Europe - which was on the verge of acquiring a world hegemony. On the other hand, the direct result of this and later voyages was the virtual extermination, by ill-treatment and disease, of the vast majority of the Native inhabitants, and the enormous growth of the transatlantic slave trade. It might not be fair to lay the blame at Columbus' feet, but since all sides treat him as a symbol, such questions cannot be avoided.

The founder of the new world and….

For that answer, you will just have to listen.

Where to start, where to start? How about a few quotes attributed to the great man himself!

They … brought us parrots and balls of cotton and spears and many other things, which they exchanged for the glass beads and hawks’ bells. They willingly traded everything they owned…. They were well-built, with good bodies and handsome features…. They do not bear arms, and do not know them, for I showed them a sword, they took it by the edge and cut themselves out of ignorance. They have no iron. Their spears are made of cane… . They would make fine servants…. With fifty men we could subjugate them all and make them do whatever we want.

Gold is a treasure, and he who possesses it does all he wishes to in this world, and succeeds in helping souls into paradise.

Oh, that was nice Chris, very forward thinking. I know when I get to a tropical paradise my first thought is to enslave the population as well. Especially with all the conquistadoring I’ve been doing lately.
While I was in the boat, I captured a very beautiful Carib woman, whom the said Lord Admiral gave to me. When I had taken her to my cabin she was naked—as was their custom. I was filled with a desire to take my pleasure with her and attempted to satisfy my desire. She was unwilling, and so treated me with her nails that I wished I had never begun. But—to cut a long story short—I then took a piece of rope and whipped her soundly, and she let forth such incredible screams that you would not have believed your ears. Eventually we came to such terms, I assure you, that you would have thought that she had been brought up in a school for whores.

So very Christian of you to do all that ethnic cleansing Chris, we really appreciate it. Who needs the family’s when you have disease death and slavery? Not I, a humble random Caribbean population armed with nothing more than cane spears.

In his book The Devastation of the Indies. Bartolome de las Casas, the priest who accompanied Columbus on his conquest of Cuba, detailed the abuse and murder of the native population:
Endless testimonies . .. prove the mild and pacific temperament of the natives…. But our work was to exasperate, ravage, kill, mangle and destroy…

And the Christians, with their horses and swords and pikes began to carry out massacres and strange cruelties against them. They attacked the towns and spared neither the children nor the aged nor pregnant women nor women in

  • History Uncensored Episode 4: Caroline Herschel a Science Darling
    https://books.google.com/books?id=J2bvAAAAMAAJ&dq=caroline%20herschel&lr&pg=PA77#v=onepage&q&f=false

    Welcome to History Uncensored

Episode 4 of the podcast episode 2 of the history of women and as always I am your host Seth Michels.
Today we go over a name you probably don’t recognize in the second installment of the history of women on the podcast.

    Her name:

    Caroline Herschel.

She may not have wanted you to remember her name, but alas there it is. She gave in life beyond the greatest measure in all that she could. For she loved her family and above all her older Brother William to which most of her adult life had been dedicated to.

Where our first woman of history was Hypatia a self-made woman of her own exploits Caroline Herschel for following in her brother's footsteps was no less brilliant.

A devoted learner of astronomy and a mind we shall all work on not forgetting.

So start off first, thank you to Caroline in helping to pave the way for women scientists on this long road to equal rights. I hope that every generation will know the contributions you made to the craft of Science.

I said this during my last episode but I will say it again and I will repeat every episode going forward. As somebody that appreciates history, there is no greater regret to me than the unanimous shielding of women from the sciences.

It has left history a more barren and less interesting place, and it has left society an impossible hole to fill that should never have been there in the first place.

    So who Was Caroline Herschel;

A word from her Neice Lady Herschel

“But indeed if I could tell you the influence which a short account by a stranger of your labors with your dear brother had upon me as a child, and my choosing you (Then so unknown to me) as my guiding star and example, you would understand how the possession of such a record by your own hand would make me almost believe in auguries and presentiments, and perhaps inspire some future generations more worthily, as the record would be more genuine.”

Her niece on providing a memoir
Caroline Lucretia Herschel was born in Hanover March 16th, 1750. I will say this working with a more modern historical record has certain advantages. Like this one, WE can say for certain where and when she was born. (Triumphant smile)

She was one of 10 children.

Could you imagine having ten children now in today’s society… How expensive would that be? Could someone do the math for me… or if you have 10 children write to me in and let me know.

Caroline was the 8th child of ten and as stated earlier had a very talented brother named William. It won’t be the first or last time we mention his name.

While Caroline was young and her brother was gaining knowledge of music language and mathematics she was usually at home a near constant companion to her mother. Though even at an early age her mother dealing with the care of several older siblings had little time for her.

From her own writings she states “in Short, there was no one who cared anything about me”

Beside that somber note, she does in her memoirs take a moment on reflection to a moment that may have cultivated her eventual love of astronomy. “For I remember his taking me, on a clear frosty night, into the street, to make me acquainted with several of the most beautiful constellations after we had been gazing at a comet which was the visible”

A scene emerges to clarify her love for her brother William just being sent to the returning parade to grab her father and brother she returned home to find them all sitting happily and warmly at the dinner table. Her presence went unnoticed except for one.
“My dear brother William threw down his knife and fork and ran to welcome and crouched down beside me, which made me forget all my grievances. The rest were so happy… at seeing one another again that my absence had never been perceived’

I am starting to see a singular theme here with her family. Though perhaps all of her

In this episode of History Uncensored, I wanted to go back to the very dawn of civilization on our planet.
That means staying in Africa and the Fertile Crescent, that means exploring some of the most interesting times in human history. At least briefly, each of these episodes is designed to be a primer for your education and learning. I feel strongly that each person if they want to know more should do the research themselves because that is often our greatest tutor. If you lived In ancient Mesopotamia (I use Wikipedia to share the general knowledge. For a deeper look please look into JSTOR or Scholar.google)perhaps you had a slave tutor?
In ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, slavery was considered a part of life, if you were conquered that is. Especially in Egypt most of their slaves came from black Africa and Asiatic sources. Though when conquered they led a relatively simple life. Some of them even married Egyptian women and became legitimized citizens.
In good Ole Mesopotamia if you were conquered generally you were enslaved. Well yeah, I said that, what makes Meso different. The freaking frequency man. Kings had a duty to expand their borders so they went all willy nilly rapey and slavery on people who you know weren’t part of that city-state.
In Mesopotamia, they had an insane amount of laws regarding slavery, including but not limited to the sale of slaves and the punishment of slaves. Why is that interesting because they were the very first law codes that still survive to this day. The if this happened then we should punish them like this…
    What does that mean though?
It means slavery had been around for centuries or perhaps millennia becoming ever increasingly more complex as the society grew and their knowledge and usage of laws expanded.
In Egypt you might be surprised to know that slave were not really “Slaves” the term was hardly ever used. Slaves weren’t part of the distinct social structure of their society. That means slaves often after being enslaved kind of just blended into society.
    Pyramids
Slaves DID NOT BUILD THE PYRAMIDS! their I said it, they just didn’t do it. To accomplish the task, the pharaohs needed skilled workers and although most slaves did inevitably have skills that translated to workings stones that weren’t their main task.
People dedicated their entire lives to the building of those tombs and monuments, they were paid and they were drunk. Probably so they could be paid less. Who knows, but I do know that a normal slave would not have been conducive to the task of building the eternal monuments that survive in our minds today.
    Slavery in general
I need to say this because it was recently brought to my attention that I am a white guy talking about slavery. Frankly, I know I am white and thankfully I have never owned a slave nor do I intend to.
The concept of this podcast is to talk about stuff that may not be easy to communicate. Things like Slavery, Religion, Sexuality and how those things affect society today.
If we can’t get over the fact that I am a white guy with to my knowledge no family history of slave ownership we are further gone than I thought.
    RACE DOESN’T EXIST
It is a figment of our understanding of biology. We as a population today since around 250,000 years ago have been called Homo Sapiens. No Homo Sapiens Black, Not Homo Sapiens Caucasian, not Homo Sapien Asiatic. Nope we’re all humans so get over it.
As humans, we all originated in Africa. We were all probably “black” at one point. I don’t have anything else to say about it. I will continue to talk about the topic Objectively knowing that there are still slaves today. More than you realize but that my friends is a podcast for another day.
Please just be good to each other, next time someone is mean

Slavery has previously existed throughout history, in many times and most places. The ancient Greeks, the Romans, Incas and Aztecs all had slaves. Did you know that slaves still exist today and have existed before there were even civilizations?
