Everyone is scheming and positioning themselves for the kingdom, but the rightful king is looking for peace and order. Maybe that's what made him a good king, not too much ambition.

Sorry, today's episode is a little long. We finish up the book of 1 Samuel and it was a good day to reflect back on the life and missteps of Saul in comparison to David. Their biggest difference relates to their relationship to God's holiness and that is on full display not just in the story but also in Psalm 18.

We are surrounded by conflict every day. We have a choice of whether to be foolish and run headfirst into trouble like we often seen Saul or David do. Today, we see the most reckless and foolish character of 1st Samuel, Nabal. He picks a fight that he can't win and his wife Abigail comes to the rescue to save him by being like Jesus and making peace.
