We teach children the importance of kindness. At what point do we adults forget it? The worst thing we can do is have malice and hatred to those who have never wronged us. As Christians, we are commanded to be kind to everyone—that’s a pretty special quality. The God who loves us infinitely will help us love others if we allow Him to!

Think of all the discord between races, religions, economic statuses, and political sides. All those people aren’t our enemies! Just because we disagree with others doesn’t mean we are allowed to hate them or pray for their downfall. As believers under the new covenant, we are called to love people we don’t get along with. Let’s pray for them like Jesus did.

In moments of grief or fear, where do we turn? Only Jesus can take our negative feelings and turn them into joy. God is always with us and always loves us—those facts alone should be enough to make us sing and worship Him! When we fill our minds and hearts with thoughts of the love of God, it overwhelms the darkness and discouragement we face. Worship Him today!

Many of us don’t like to cry—it might make us feel embarrassed or weak. But the Bible says that tears are a language that God understands. When we cry in our prayers, those tears are so precious to Him that He stores them! Let’s allow the Spirit to move within us as we pray over our families, cities, and nations.

It's easy to do too much ministry and neglect personal time with the Lord. We run around doing this and that but neglect prayer and time in God's Word—and our spiritual energy gets drained. Then we want to run away! Instead of chasing about, let’s run to our Savior today. He will restore our strength.

When a pastor asks people to give, sometimes it's more like guilt-tripping than joyful encouragement. Many church leaders, Christian influencers, and televangelists spread this feeling of coercion about giving. Believers should have no part in that! God loves a cheerful giver—one who gives of his own free will, without coercion. Let’s be free-will givers today.

According to the Bible, only a fool denies God. Yet the world today says, “Everyone is basically good!” It is up to us as believers to stand for the truth. Only God is good! Foolish people will deny and reject Him all day, but we must spread His love and goodness on this earth.

When a tree is shaken, sometimes its roots go deeper in the soil. Let's use that picture to think about faith: when ours is shaken, do we dig deeper spiritually? Some Christians bend and sway with the woes of life. But when we are firmly planted in the Word of God and prayer, we will increasingly trust in the Lord.

King David really messed up! But even after adultery and murder, he didn’t hide from God. He repented of his sin and begged God not only to grant him mercy but also to give him a clean heart. What an example to us! We cannot purify or sustain ourselves—only God can do that. Let’s ask Him today to stir within us hearts that desire to please Him.
