Imagine God confronting His people in a courtroom. In Psalm 50 we read of Him doing just that! But He was not condemning His followers to hell—He was calling them unthankful. The psalmist painted this courtroom picture to call believers out for going through the motions—going to church and singing songs but not having thankful hearts. There must be substance to our faith. We should be thanking God every day for His blessings!

Life is short, and riches are worthless. Doesn’t that go against everything the world tells us? Instead, we Christians must keep eternity in mind! There, time and money are meaningless. Let’s focus today on how to wisely use our resources to make a difference in eternity!

In the days of the Old Testament, God was only reachable through the temple, and the Sabbath was a day set apart wholly for worship. But God is no longer bound to a building. Thanks to His grace and Jesus’ sacrifice, He can be reached anytime, anywhere! We can receive guidance from God at any moment we ask for it.

Worship today has become so stiff. Where in the Bible does it say to keep your hands still and your voice low when worshiping Almighty God? Nowhere! The Bible says to clap, be joyful, and sing praises to the Lord! Get alone with God today and sing a song of worship. It’s a wonderful way to praise Him!

Faith is easy when everything is going our way. But when things fall apart—someone gets sick, a job is lost, the market crashes—do we still rest in Jesus? We should, because God is our refuge and our strength! He is ever-present and helps us when we’re in trouble. Even if the mountains fall into the sea, as the psalmist wrote, we can trust God today and always.

Do we really love God? When we spend mindless hours consuming worldly content that Jesus would hate, we aren’t loving Him very well. We are called to imitate Christ, so we should love what He loves and hate what He hates. We need to inspect ourselves and our choices so we don’t give God fake love!

Sometimes life isn't fair. So what’s the answer when we ask God “Why?” Martyrs and mistreated apostles surely thought life was unfair, but they knew that their rewards were in heaven, not here on earth. Let’s remember that today too. The Bible says, “If we endure, we will also reign with him” (2 Tim. 2:12, NIV).

When God shines light on us, everything changes. As we read His Word, it's light—like brightness coming into the darkness of our minds and souls. We can have freedom from discouragement and depression when we look for the light of God’s love and care! Yes, problems come in life, but we know that our Creator will see us through them all. Amen!

One of the strongest expressions of faith is waiting on the God, even when we don’t see immediate answers to prayers. We can handle the delay, because God wouldn't lie. He made a promise, and He's going to come through. Wait for the breakthrough—don't give up just because the answer hasn't come yet.

Americanized Christianity centers on people with big titles and awards. Doesn’t that sound like idolatry? We’ve shifted our focus from our Creator to whoever has the biggest social following. Yet the Jesus we claim to love and serve turned His attention to the lowly and rejected. He calls us to do the same. We act most like Jesus when we bless those who are in need.
