Though my suspicion is this is going to be a Nintendo Switch Pro (or whatever the next Nintendo console will be called) title. I’m sure it will be available for the current Nintendo Switch but I think at this point, considering the life of a typical Nintendo console, we should be seeing a new Nintendo console, IMO, by 2023, and Metroid Prime 4 is looking more and more like it will be coming out around that time. This is all just conjecture, so take it with a truck load of salt. But I highly doubt, especially considering supply chain issues with computer chips, we will see a new Nintendo Switch in 2022. It will be a bigger launch than just the OLED display update, and I don’t see Nintendo announcing and launching a new console in the same year, but you never know…

* Schreier reports, “The company, in its earnings statement Wednesday, said it had taken a charge of $53 million, for ending “further development of an unannounced title in its pipeline.””

* The project, which was code-named Volt, had gone through multiple iterations since it was first conceived. The current version struggled due to reboots, technological hiccups and challenges caused by Covid-19, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly.

* The game, which has been in development in various forms since 2017, was set to feature superheroes competing in online game play. It was set to be a new intellectual property for Hangar 13, but 2K executives didn’t see it as a worthwhile investment because of the amount of time needed in development before it became a finished product, the people said.

* Employees of Hangar 13, which also is owned by Take-Two and based in Novato, California, will meet Thursday to discuss next steps for the studio. Take-Two didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Returnal 2.0 update brings Suspend and Photo Mode.

Photo Mode:

At any point during the game (except some limited circumstances like our first-person sequences), you can simply pause the game and enter Photo Mode, which will put you in control of the camera. You can then use the analog sticks and the adaptive triggers to move the camera around and pick the perfect angle for your photo.

Once you’ve perfected your composition, you can then explore some optional settings like focal distance, aperture, saturation or contrast. You can also set different sources of light to highlight the scene, and choose from a variety of many different filters, effects, frames, coloring options, and much more to help bring that unique flair to your captures.When you’re happy with the result, just hit the Create button on your DualSense wireless controller to take the photo. Using the social features built directly into the PS5 console, you can also share and celebrate your most cherished Returnal moments with social media as well. We hope you have fun with the Photo Mode, and we are looking forward to seeing your creations!

Suspend Cycle:

One of the main features of this update is the Suspend Cycle functionality, which will allow you to pause your cycle to be continued later, letting you exit the game and turn off your console without losing your progress in that session. The structure of the game remains unchanged, so this functionality is not a traditional mid-game “Save Game” option: by suspending the cycle, Returnal will simply create a single use suspend point, and once you resume playing the suspend point is deleted and cannot be used again. Your game will continue directly from the moment you left it, and if you want to suspend the cycle again, your progress will be captured from that new point onwards. There are some limitations in place – for example, players won’t be able to create a suspend point during Boss battles, cinematics, first-person sequences or during intense combat scenarios.

Halo Infinite Campaign overview

I’m gonna be dead-ass honest with you guys, I haven’t played a Halo game since two, and two just turned me off so much that I never got back into the series.

Instead of Cortana, Master Chief will team up with a new AI named The Weapon. Though the name is a bit misleading of the character’s seeming naivete and innocence.

Video introduced a location called Zeta Halo, a Halo planet look-alike.

Shown off was a grappling tool attached to Master Chief’s wrist that can be used to pull him toward objects, and even towards bad guys.

The video claims Halo Infinite will be the series biggest campaign to date.

The graphics look great, and I’m assuming all footage was either PC or Xbox Series X based.

The game sounds like it will be an open world design, though I’m not so clear on how open world it will be. WIth an ability to go to a vehicle platform chooser and have them (somewhat violently) dropped right in front of you.

 You will be fighting The Banished, who are hunting Master Chief down.

The Banished army will have strongholds and outposts throughout the planet, which almost makes it sound like a Far Cry sort of inspired game. This game really gives me very strong Far Cry esque vibes.

In fact the overworld map shows off the ability to select different points of interests ala Far Cry, Skyrim, Fallout, etc.

It looks like there are named enemies.

There looks to be some light RPG elements introduced with the ability to upgrade abilities.

The video overall was fairly impressive. Not just with the graphics, but the controls, as with previous Halos, look to be tight. The story could very well impress, and it looks like there will be a good amount of opportunities for action only found in this franchise.

The game drops December 8th of this year. Not only can you purchase it digitally or physically for $59.99 that day, but it will be a day-one release for Game Pass.

The first season finale of the Dark Pictures Anthologies was announced via a video at the end of House of Ashes, titled The Devil in Me.

This indicates that the 8 part Anthology will be split into seasons.

The Dark Picture’s strength is not only in its creepy story telling, but also in its unique co-op story telling.

From the small amount of gameplay I witnessed on Twitch the co-op play was very cool.

The Trailer for the Devil in Me seems to show a more Saw-inspired story line as opposed to the more supernatural storyline of the last three.
