* Ever hear of the Tamriel Rebuilt project? Well for some of you this project is older than even you. Tamriel Rebuilt is a mod that has been in development for nearly twenty years and its intent is to expand the world of Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. Adding more land, more story, more NPCs, and just basically make the game as big as fans once hoped the original Morrowind could’ve been including the mainland of Morrowind. The all volunteer developers of the mod have released a new road map. In the new roadmap they reveal they’ve completely about 50% of the mainland area and have added about 360 quests to the game, which are currently available for players to play. This is what the blog post has to say about their progress for the mod, “The reason is that work on Tamriel Rebuilt is, by necessity, cumulative. We always aim to have a “rolling front” of new areas conceptualized for 3D modelers, further-along areas for exterior developers who need finalized 3D assets, even more ready regions for interior makers who can fill in exterior locations, and nearly complete worldspaces for NPCers and questers. It doesn’t always work out this neatly in reality, but it’s what we are aiming for.”

* Jordan Middler with VGC reports that a cloud native MMO is no longer exclusive to Xbox according to Jeff Grubb, a journalist for GamesBeat. Speaking on the GamesBeat podcast, Jeff Grub will no longer be published by Xbox Game Studios. Jeff Grub states, “…it raised $23 million, not from Microsoft… and as part of that deal, from my understanding, they backed off of that agreement or any potential agreements with Microsoft, and this game will probably come out as a multi-platform game.” He adds, “It sounds to me like one was played off the other to try to increase the amount of money they might get here, and Microsoft was part of that.” The developer of the game, Mainframe, states on their website that the game is intended to be a game “millions will live in, for decades.” The website for the game shows a series B round of funding this November that included Twitch & King co-founders. In their series A round of funding back in February of last year backers included Andreessen Horowitz and Riot Games.

* Steam have released new photos of the Steam Deck’s packaging. They stated in the post that they’ve completed the design validation manufacturing or DV build of the Steam Deck, and these units will be used for additional testing and as developer kits. Design Validation is the final prototype build before production begins, and it includes improvements from the EV2 build. After the design validation build there will only be minor changes to the final product. * EA will be creating a “Battlefield universe”, which will contain multiple games from different studios in North America and Europe.

* DICE GM Oskar Gabrielson is leaving the company to pursue other things.

* Respawn’s Vince Zampella will be taking a bigger role as the boss of the Battlefield franchise.

* Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of Halo and Game Director at Ea, will be putting together a new development team in Seattle focused on the story side of things for Battlefield 2042.

* EA told Gamespot that DICE, Ripple Effect (the developer of Battlefield 2042’s Portal mode), and Lehto’s studio will be working together to currently improve Battlefield 2042.

* This is the first time it’s been revealed what Marcus Lehto has been working on with EA since he was hired by them earlier this year.

* EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated the company is thinking about developing a free-to-play Battlefield game. Which is in line with what the rest of the industry is doing, especially when you consider Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is F2P.

* Oskar Gabrielson, DICE’s general manager, will be leaving the company by the end of the year.

* EA’s COO Laura Miele had this to say to Gamespot, “”As a whole, we’re all-in on Battlefield. It is one of the most important and valuable franchises in the industry. Collectively, we are out to unlock its enormous potential.”

* I think EA understands Battlefield is in a bad position with Battlefield 2042, and this article with Gamespot was a PR move by them to try to quell some of the bad conversation that is occurring surrounding the game, that’s obvious, but it is indicative that Battlefield’s future will probably look a bit different that what it currently looks like.

* On the Gaming Leaks and Rumors Subreddit user the_andshrew post an image that showed up on the Playstation backend of a possible Matrix video game.

* The fact that it says “Experience” makes me initially think it’s not necessarily a full on game, but considering the movie is releasing this month, a video game tie in would make total sense, but nothing has been announced up to this point, and it would surprise me to see a game with this big of a tie in being announced

* As of this writing no announcements have been made by any developers, but the game, if it is that, is suspected to be on the Playstation 5, but I would be surprised if it’s only on the Playstation and I would suspect we’ll see it on other platforms.

* The FIA Certified Gran Turismo Championships will be occurring this week, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

* It will be the final time the tournament takes place within Gran Turismo Sport, the last Gran Turismo game that was released. Gran Turismo 7 will be out March 4th of 2022, next year.

* The Championship will be broadcast live from Playstation and Gran Turismo YouTube and Facebook pages.

* Details of the tournament:

* In total, 58 competitors from 23 countries will take to the track over the course of the three days.

* The World Finals action begins with the single-make Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup this Friday, December 3.

* In 2020, this was the moment that Takuma Miyazono signalled his intent. His victory in the Toyota race was followed by the Japanese driver claiming both the Manufacturer Series and Nations Cup titles.

* On Saturday, December 4, the scene is set for a tense finale to the Manufacturer Series.

* Team Mazda and Team Toyota enter the three-race World Final level on points. Miyazono’s Team Subaru are four-points adrift, and a podium for Team Porsche in the last round has also put them within reach. * CD Projekt Red has released their quarter 3 2021 financial report, revealing a road map of sorts on their plans for CyberPunk 2077 among other things.

* There will be a reallocation for the development team from support for Cyberpunk 2077 and the next-gen version to the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion development.

* By June of 2022 the graph provided in their financial report show support for the CP2077 expansion basically doubling in size while main Cyberpunk support shrinks.

* By September the development team for the CP2077 expansion pack will basically be the same size as the CP2077/NextGen team, indicating a clear focus by CD Projekt Red on getting past the awful launch of of the game and an expansion pack I’m sure they hope will help further improve CP2077 gameplay and public perception.

* CyberPunk 2077 is “on track” for a quarter 1 2022 release for next ten platforms. The Witcher Wild Hunt Complete Edition is on target for a quarter 2 2022 release for next gen consoles.

* The Complete Edition of The Witcher Wild Hunt will include visual upgrades, all game expansions, and extra items “inspired by the Netflix series.”

* As well, CD Projekt Group and its subsidiaries GOG.com and CD Projekt Red saw a loss in net profit by 30% year over year. Though the loss seems to be mostly from GOG.com, as GOG.com had a net profit loss of 11.4% for Q3 2021 and CD Projekt Red had a net profit gain of 20.1%. CD Projekt Red within the CD Projekt Group matched the whole of the groups sales revenue in Q3 2021 compared to the groups sales revenue of Q3 2020.

* Jenny Zheng with Gamespot reports on Half Life 3 not coming out anytime soon, and possibly never.

* YouTuber Tyler McVicker revealed in a video that according to Valve sources he talked to, “There is not a major development team working on anything outside of the few pieces of software specifically tailored for hardware.”

* The reason being that Valve is focusing all of its resources into the Steam Deck, “Right now, Valve is trying to get the Steam Deck out… Valve is throwing a lot at it,” McVicker said. “Half-Life 3, any kind of traditional mouse and keyboard first-person shooter at Valve, is not taking place. If it is, it’s a very small group of people.”

* PointCrow, a Youtube and Twitch content creator has announced a bounty of $10,000 for the first person to create a mod to play Breath of the Wild in multiplayer.

* This is what PointCrow said in the Google Doc he posted talking about the bounty, “there’s still the holy grail that has yet to been achieved–Breath of the Wild multiplayer. So, I’ve decided to shed some light on it and bring some incentive to the table: $10,000 will go to the person/team who creates the mod.”

* Here are some of the requirements that need to be met for a person/team to win the $10,000:

* The mod must be able to support 2 people

* No restraints on map movement–for all intents and purposes you could have two people completing separate playthroughs

* Multiplayer game does not need to start from the Shrine of Resurrection, having an already completed Great Plateau with Runes + Paraglider would be preferred (and probably easier)

* P2P or similar, no public or maintained servers please

* PointCrow will be able to stream it/play it exclusively for 1-2 weeks and public release will be after the YouTube video is made–similar to the Pokemon Universal Map Randomizer (https://youtu.be/4C-UmXxVB5c).

* Mod will not be locked behind a paywall, anyone will have access to play it.

* Multiplayer Mod must be finished at least two months before the Breath of the Wild sequel release date, whenever that happens to be. This is set so the bounty is able to expire.

Instead, today’s update – named update two, following the day one patch that launched a week after the game was widely available (look, video game launches are complicated now) – instead introducing balancing and performance tweaks.

* He continues in this article, Key amongst them is improving how revives work on the field, nerfing the hovercraft and nightbird, an improved respawn system and a fix to the overstated shot dispersion that has made Battlefield 2042’s gunplay feel so shoddy. The third update, which comes out next month, goes much deeper, introducing fixes for the interface, maps, matchmaking and progression. * PC Gamer’s Ted Litchfield reports on a cancelled Fallout RPG from 2003 being resurrected.

* The game in question is the original isometric Fallout 3 from Black Isle Studios and Interplay.

* At the time of Black Isle’s Fallout 3, Interplay was in rough financial shape, according to Ted Litchfield’s story, and the game was ultimately cancelled, before being picked up by Zenimax’s Bethesda and coming out as the beloved 1st person style Fallout 3 we know today.

* Litchfield goes on says that back in 2007 a tech demo and 700 page design document was leaked in 2007 and as he wrote in this article, “served as a competing vision to license-owner Bethesda’s official Fallout 3.”

* It’s also noted that the setting and lore formed the basis of New Vegas.

This claim was based on Folk singer Eabha McMahon, who performs as Ava, telling Irish radio station WLR FM that she had recorded an Irish language theme for the game, which had yet to be revealed.

* According to the post of Xbox’s blog post the Mexico civilization is the most strategically diverse civilization yet for the game.

* Rockstar has released an apology letter and has outlined their plans moving forward for the Definitive Editions and the original versions of the trilogy of games.

* Firstly they apologized, and this is what they stated in the blog post, “Firstly, we want to sincerely apologize to everyone who has encountered issues playing these games.

The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”

* Then they addressed their plans for improving the Definitive Editions, “We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be. A new Title Update is on the way in the coming days for all versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition that will address a number of issues. We will update everyone as soon as it is live.”

* They also touched on the harassment the development teams are taking, “In the meantime, it pains us to mention that we are hearing reports of members of the development teams being harassed on social media. We would kindly ask our community to please maintain a respectful and civil discourse around this release as we work through these issues.”

* And lastly they went over their plans for the original versions of the Trilogy, “While one of the goals of the Definitive Editions was to allow players to enjoy these games on modern platforms for many years to come, we also understand that some of you would still like to have the previous classic versions available for purchase.

We will be adding the classic PC versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas back to the Rockstar Store shortly as a bundle. Additionally, everyone who has purchased Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PC from the Rockstar Store through June 30, 2022, will receive these classic versions in their Rockstar Games Launcher library at no additional cost. We will update everyone as soon as these are back in the Rockstar Store.”

* On Saturday they released an update for the Definitive Edition, and boy howdy were there a lot of fixes. And what’s nuts is this just seems to be the tip of the iceberg as word on the street is there are still numerous issues even after this update.
