Yesterday I talked about the need to break from situations that no longer bring us joy and fulfillment. I’m betting one area we could all benefit from a break would be social media. With our nation as divided as it is, social media has only added fuel to the fire. If you ever thought about muting social media, you won’t find a better time than right now. Here are three benefits of doing a social media detox. (1) Studies have shown that it can improve your overall mood. This is especially helpful for those who struggle with anxiety, stress, or depression. (2) You won’t feel as though you must compete with others in your newsfeed and you won’t have to worry about the fear of missing out. (3) You’ll be able to reconnect with yourself and live your life in the way that’s best for you. I did and so can you. Thanks and Be Excellent!

Are you having difficulty leaving a certain situation in your life? Let’s talk about it in today’s Daily Minute. Yesterday I mentioned that sometimes we need to take a break or walk away from certain situations in life. This includes people and environments, which could be difficult especially when there’s a history. I found this quote that said, “Stop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it,” which applies here. Maybe there is a history with a particular relationship (i.e. personal, romantic, professional, social), but if it no longer brings you joy and fulfillment, then maybe it’s time to part ways. It doesn’t have to be a dramatic separation. It can be a peaceful parting. Remember the good times and know that you’re moving toward something that is more meaningful for the future you want to create. You deserve it!

Have you ever tried to force something and it just didn’t feel right? Let’s talk about it in today’s Daily Minute. Yesterday I mentioned my recent break from the digital world. I knew that I needed a break and sometimes we just need to walk away for a bit to collect our thoughts. We all have our reasons for needing a break. Kind of like how Luke Skywalker left his newly founded Jedi Academy and his friends so he could hide out for a few years on Ahch-To. Maybe we feel remorse for a bad decision like Luke, or we need to leave a toxic relationship, or maybe you just want some peace and quiet. Whatever your reason, it’s best not to force it. Walk away, take time to collect your thoughts, and when you’re ready then you can reemerge to save the galaxy. May the Force be With You.

Do you have something worth saying? If so, let’s talk about it in today’s Daily Minute. 

If you’ve been following me here or on social media, then you’ll know that last year I took an extended break from many social channels. I took a break from producing regular content and being active on social media for personal reasons. But recently I’ve been feeling like it’s time for my self-imposed isolation to end. 

On top of that, two recent messages made a significant impact on me – both spoken by influencers saying similar things. These individuals said, “When you have something worth saying, then you have an obligation to share it so others can benefit.” That hit me hard and made me realize that my extended silence isn’t serving anyone. 

That said, I’ll be relaunching my podcast and producing more videos and I look forward to delivering valuable content for you to enjoy. How about you? Do you have something worth saying?
