• “Golden” from animated film KPop Demon Hunters won Best Original Song at the 2026 Golden Globes, the first animated film song to win since 2007. Demon Hunters also won Best Animated Film, the first movie to take both categories. Ludwig Göransson won Best Original Score for Sinners, becoming the first composer to win twice in three years. Both Golden and Sinners are now strong Oscar favorites after Globe and Critics Choice wins.
• Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a 13th week with 85K units. Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving hit a new peak at No. 3 with 65K. Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl slipped to No. 2 after 12 weeks at No. 1
• Bob Weir, guitarist and co-founder of the Grateful Dead, has died at 78. A member since 1965, Weir helped define the band’s sound and co-wrote classics including “Truckin’,” “Sugar Magnolia,” and “Estimated Prophet.” Tributes poured in honoring his musicianship and generosity.
• Miranda Lambert will perform the pre-race concert at the 2026 Daytona 500, the 68th running of the event. She joins past performers including Brad Paisley, Luke Combs, Tim McGraw, Jon Bon Jovi, and Mariah Carey.
• Gunnar and Matthew Nelson detail their family’s entertainment legacy in the memoir What Happened To Your Hair?, addressing long-standing rumors, their upbringing, and the truth surrounding their father Ricky Nelson’s fatal plane crash.
• Jay Weinberg has exited Suicidal Tendencies after nearly two years to focus on personal projects and his growing family. He joined the band in March 2024 following his departure from Slipknot.
• Bella Mackenzie released the new single “Tombstone Desperado” featuring Jake Banfield. Inspired by the film Tombstone, the track highlights a tougher edge and will appear during Banfield’s Australian tour.
• Jack Osbourne says he, his wife, and daughters have all dreamed of Ozzy Osbourne since his 2025 death, describing Ozzy as laughing and telling them to stop crying.
