A cover of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” by Queensland DJ Josh Fawaz has topped Australia’s radio airplay chart, outperforming tracks from Madonna’s new album, Confessions II, but the song has faced accusations that AI audio tools were used to create it. Fawaz says he used AI only “as a tool,” while critics argue the technology is trained on artists’ work without consent or compensation.

Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears will produce Tinderbox, a film about the 1973 Up Stairs Lounge fire, an attack on the LGBTQ community that killed 32 people. Shears will also contribute music from his solo albums to the film, directed by Ganymede filmmakers Colby Holt and Sam Probst.
