• Independent artists, songwriters, and producers filed a lawsuit against Google, alleging the company used YouTube content to train its Lyria 3 AI music model without licensing the music. Plaintiffs claim Google extracted audio elements from videos and that the AI’s outputs are costing human creators sync licensing opportunities.


Tommy DeCarlo, lead vocalist of Boston since 2007, has died at 60 after battling brain cancer. Discovered on MySpace, he later recorded lead vocals on the band’s 2013 album “Life Love & Hope.”


• A rare 1981 Danzig 7-inch single, “Who Killed Marilyn?”, sold for $10,000 on Discogs. The record was sold by its original owner, who said it was given to him directly by Glenn Danzig in 1983.


Alice Cooper’s new autobiography, “Devil on My Shoulder,” arrives October 8. The book examines the connection between his stage persona and real life and will be promoted with a U.K. book tour.


The Bloomington Symphony Orchestra presented “Between Silence and Strauss,” blending traditional Japanese music with Western classical works in partnership with the IU Asian Culture Center. The program featured guest musicians and highlighted the cross-cultural influence of composer Toshio Hosokawa alongside music from Richard Strauss.


Squeeze’s upcoming album “Trixies” compiles songs written by Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford in the 1970s but never previously recorded. The release revisits the duo’s early songwriting era with melodic, polished arrangements.


• U.S. radio giant Cumulus Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to restructure roughly $600 million in debt. The plan eliminates existing equity and converts creditor claims into new ownership while maintaining operations.


HYBE and Spotify announced a partnership to launch K-pop video podcasts produced by HYBE MEDIA STUDIO. The shows will feature HYBE artists and other creators beginning March 23.


• Former Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and has canceled upcoming tour dates. He remains hospitalized but stable and will begin rehabilitation.
