Palestinians, including many who are starving, are facing an increasing wave of attacks by Israeli forces. Air strikes have killed at least 125 people since early morning on Sunday. Hospital officials say one strike hit a camp sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi, killing at least 36. Israel had designated the area in southern Gaza a “safe zone”.

Israeli military attacks on Gaza have killed more than 100 Palestinians across the Strip on Sunday. One of them hit a camp sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi in southern Gaza - an Israeli-designated safe zone. 36 people died there and many more were injured as their tents caught fire. They've been taken to nearby hospitals.

Ukraine says Russia has launched its largest drone attack on Ukraine since the start of the war. Ukraine's air force says it managed to down 88 of the 273 drones, which targeted Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk. At least one woman has been killed in the attack and three others were injured. Several towns have suffered damage.

A Mexican Navy training ship has crashed into New York's Brooklyn Bridge - injuring 19 people, four of them critically. The ship is an old-style 3-masted sailing vessel. It reportedly carries a crew of more than 270 people. Video of the incident shows the ship drifting backwards, with its masts failing to clear the bridge. A search and rescue operation has been launched to pull people out of the water.

At the Arab League summit in Baghdad, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Syria and Iraq. He highlighted the shared security concerns, particularly the threat posed by ISIS, and expressed Syria's readiness to cooperate with Iraq in combating terrorism. Al-Shibani also called for the reopening of border crossings to enhance trade and economic relations between the two countries. He reaffirmed Syria's commitment to regional stability and its desire to work closely with Iraq to address common challenges.

Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank “are all part of a complete imperial enterprise [aimed] at undermining our efforts for establishing our independent state”. We need support from “the Arab states, the US administration and the [UN] Security Council to stand up to this imperial enterprise”. “[We must] adopt an Arab plan to end the war, establish peace, including the following: first, a permanent ceasefire, immediate release of all Palestinian detainees and Israeli captives, and the unconditional delivery of relief aid, in addition to the total withdrawal by the Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip.”

We also have comments made by Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Arab League meeting in Baghdad. Speaking at the opening of the event, the Egyptian president said the “region is faced with complicated challenges and unprecedented conditions”. El-Sisi called on leaders to adopt a stance “firmly united in words and in action”. “It is no secret that the Palestinian cause is living one of its darkest and gravest moments,” he said. “The Palestinian people are going through organised and systematic crimes, and brutal practices for more than one and a half years, aiming at exterminating and ending their existence in the Gaza Strip,” el-Sisi added. The president stressed that “the Israeli war machine did not leave any building standing or show any mercy to any child or woman” during the war, adding that it has used “starvation as a weapon”.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, speaking at the Arab League Summit in Baghdad, said he is alarmed by Israel’s plans to expand its ground operations in the Gaza Strip. He also stressed that Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected.

Intense bombings and forced displacement are escalating in Gaza, with many civilians seeking shelter amid ongoing attacks. Health officials are warning of a severe shortage of medical supplies and blood donations, as hospitals struggle to treat increasing casualties from explosions and chronic diseases. The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen as Gaza faces months of devastation and suffering.
