    The Story of Charles Plumb:

Charles Plumb was a US Navy jet fighter pilot in Vietnam. During a mission, he was shot down. Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. After six years in captivity, he survived and was freed.

One day while eating at a restaurant, a man came up and said, “You’re Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down!”

“How in the world did you know that?” asked Plumb.

“I packed your parachute,” the man replied. Charles Plumb in surprise and gratitude had to catch his breath.

The man then shook his hand and said, “I guess it worked!” Plumb assured him “It sure did. If your chute hadn’t worked, I wouldn’t be here today.”

That night Plumb could not sleep. He said, “I kept pondering what he might have looked like in a Navy uniform. I wondered how many times I might have seen him and not even said good morning, or how are you, or anything, because, you see, I was a fighter pilot and he was just a sailor.”

Plumb thought a lot about that man who had packed his parachute and the hours he spent at a wooden table at the bottom of the ship carefully packing his and other’s chutes. He held in his hands the chute; the fate of someone he did not even know.

In our lives, how many people have a hand in packing our parachutes?

It’s very easy to overlook the work of those that sacrifice so much for us.

***This week flew by! I didn't realize that it's already Friday. Normally on Friday I start the podcast and ask if you accomplished all the goals you set out to achieve at the beginning of the week, and if that has got you closer to your bigger goals. I didn't talk about that in this episode. But I still want to know. Leave a comment wherever you're watching/listening to this, send me a DM, or email me at [email protected]

I was recently on the GNG Podcast with Chaz Jackson. We were having a discussion about young men and he asked me what advice I would give them. My response was, "don't believe your own lies!"

In this episode I talk about how negative self-talk can create limiting beliefs that keep us from reaching our full potential.

I also talk about our thoughts of things that are impossible and remind everyone that things are only impossible until they're not. There have been so many impossible things that have been accomplished.

Are you holding back because your great ideas are "impossible?"

    Steve Chandler:

To those who have asked me why I have a coach and why I’ve paid people to coach me through the years, I ask them why should coaching just be for athletes & actors?

They reply that athletes actors can’t afford to be average or mediocre. They have to be as good as they can be just to keep their jobs.

Greatness, to them, is linked to survival. They have to be great at what they do or they’re gone.

Well, so do we now. The world has gone global. No more whining about outsourcing. If someone in China can do it better than you can, game over.

To have a great life, we have to be great at what we do.

That scares a lot of people, but it excites those of us with coaches.

Why should I not want to be as good as I can be at my own career? Even if I’m not a pro athlete?

But why do you need to pay for that? Why not do it yourself?

Because coaching works and doing it myself never works the same way. I was OK by myself, but I was never GREAT at anything.

Even if I was, it wasn’t as great as it could have been

So now, ask yourself… Do you want to be Great at what you do?

    Lyndon Duke

Specialty was the linguistics of suicide

    - Discovered that people in that state of mind didn’t think they were making a difference

“If something makes no difference, it has no meaning”

If it makes no difference, it has no meaning

If you could get a seemingly hopeless person to start making even a tiny difference, it would change everything in their lives

    Difference making is the key:

    - Creating wealth

    - Creating relationships

    - Creating clients

    - Creating the life you want

I want to look at what difference I can make in your lifeby helping you see the differences you can start making

    Self analysis

What can I do to make a difference right now?

Instead of How am I coming across?

Stop coming across. Start making a difference.

    Stop trying to win approval

    What difference can I make?

    How can I contribute?

    How can I help?
