One of the most consistent patterns in Scripture is God’s mercy to man for the purpose of man glorifying God. In other words, God doesn’t bless us so that we can merely be comfortable. God blesses us so that we can translate his goodness toward us into greater glory toward him.

The Gospel is the wind in our sails and the Law is the rudder. The Gospel pushes us and the Law guides us.

Frequently, God’s commandments feel like a burden. So how can we “delight in the Law of God” when we are so weak and God seems to have so many rules.

Few have ever been born of nobility. Even fewer have been born princes. But only one was ever born a King. And at the moment of his birth, the kings of this world felt the threat of his political power.

Sadly, there are many Christians who despise theology. Essentially, these Christians desire to LOVE God, but have little desire to KNOW God. Here’s how you can lovingly respond to this type of person.

There is no inconsistency with God, for “God cannot lie.” And all lies are ultimately rooted in some kind of divergence from logical consistency.

Mantra Meditation (or Eastern Meditation) seeks to “empty” the mind of all rational thought in order to achieve an intermediate state of “oneness” with everything, and therefore, oneness with the “god” who is in everything (the heresy of Pantheism). This is a dangerous and foolish practice. Not only does it cause the individual to be vulnerable to demonic oppression, it also deceives the individual by convincing them that it is possible to grow spiritually apart from involving the mind.

 “Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love. Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it. Seal it for thy courts above.

Many Christians tip their hat to the INERRANCY of Scripture, but never live in such a way to demonstrate genuine belief in the SUFFICIENCY of Scripture.

Those who worship idols become like them. The Bible describes idols as lifeless, and so their worshippers are spiritually dead. By contrast, the Bible describes our God as the Living God, and so his worshippers receive new life.
