The Fullness of Life 1

I would like to welcome you to the month of August. August means special; therefore may this month bring to you the important things you seek, in Jesus name.

This month we will be talking about the fullness of life. Life can be very challenging, life can be a drag. Sometimes we exact so much energy just to live a very simple and average life, and this comes with its pressures. However this is not the way God wants us to live our lives. This is the primary reason Christ came on Earth. He came to save us from struggle, deliver us from death, and give us abundant life.

Let's look at Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

This particular translation makes it extremely simple to comprehend. Many people are very busy looking for life in many things; some in their jobs, husbands, wives businesses,children, relationships and even religion.  But they still feel like they are missing something; they feel like something is dying. They know that something is off but they just can't place their fingers on what the problem is. However, Some know what to do, but they just choose not to do it.

This has led to many losing their lives. Jesus said "come with me and I would recover your life." You may ask, am I dead? Why should my life be recovered? Jesus lets us to know that there is life at another level and that life is what he wants us to experience. It is a life of rest; a life that is unforced. The message translation calls it "an unforced Rhythm," meaning a life that flows with grace, a life of love peace, and the life of rest in this world of trouble.

Jesus desires that we keep company with him, Walk with him closely, so that we can learn how to live this life to the fullest. Therefore, in this month of August,we would be learning how to live the fullness of life in Christ Jesus.

Steps to Supernatural Intervention 6

Today we would be looking at the place of the mind in experiencing the supernatural. Remember that Jesus told the Jews in Matthew 13:15 how they needed to align their eyes, ears and minds to attract the supernatural intervention of God. He said that they would have to repent to receive transformation and healing. This healing will not take place if their eye, ears, and minds are not completely yielded to him.

Now the mind being a very interesting part of the human being doesn't just change overnight. Something has to be done to it; it is called the RENEWING of the mind. 

 Romans 12:2  says...

"Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of Your mind..."

Now Paul is saying that for you to experience the power of God in your life, and the change that you want to see, you must renew your mind. This process would demand that you yield your mind to the things of God. The reason you need to yield your mind to God is so that you don't cut yourself off from the transforming power of God.

2 kings 5:9-14

So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and waited at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.”11 But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! 12 Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.13 But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir,[a] if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!’” 14 So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!

Here is the story of a very powerful army general by name Naaman, who needed supernatural intervention. But something was going to become a stumbling block to his miracle. what was it? Naaman had a premeditated or preconceived thought pattern in his mind of how his miracle was going to happen. This mindset almost made him lose his miracle until his servant presented to him another mindset or thought pattern. If the instruction from Elisha was from God, then he will have to yield his mind and thoughts to God's word. The moment's Naaman yielded his mind to God's word, the miraculous happened instantly in his life.

If we are going to walk with God we cannot come with preconceived notions. We cannot determine to God how we want him to intervene in our lives. We cannot use our minds to create expectations that God must yield to. Instead we must yield our minds to him, so that he can move in our lives.

Isaiah 1:18

"... Come now let us reason together..."

By reasoning with God we get to a place where we yield to him, and we can cause the supernatural to flow in our lives. As we come to the end of this month, my prayer for you is that your eyes, ears and minds Will be completely aligned to the Will and the word of God. God bless you, enjoy the rest of your day.

Steps to Supernatural Intervention 5

The fact that we have a role to play in attracting the supernatural cannot be overemphasized. In Matthew 13:15 Jesus began to explain to us the roles that the ears, the eyes, and our minds play in attracting the supernatural. 

Yesterday we focused on the ears, and how it influences supernatural intervention. However today, we would be looking at the eyes and how it influences the supernatural. What you see, affects three things in your life; it affects what you believe, what you say, and what you think. This is the reason why we should keep guard over the things we allowed to go through our eyes.

2 kings 6:15-17

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

This is an interesting story of two people who looked at the same thing but so different things. Elisha's servant saw the forces and the armies of Syria surrounding them, and he panicked. He immediately reported to Elisha about their current position. In clear terms, they were surrounded and there was no way humanly possible they could come out of this crisis. But Elisha in response to the report prayed; "Lord, open his eyes that he may see..." What was Elisha talking about? He was talking about the eyes that really matter, which is the eyes of the spirit. The moment God opened his servant's eyes, his perspective changed completely. The fear that gripped his heart immediately seized. There is something that you will see about your situation that will change your perspective for life. This explains the prayer of Paul for the Ephesian Christians in...

Ephesians 1:17

"... That the eyes of your understanding might be enlightened..."

This is the prayer I pray for you from my heart today, that God will cause the eyes of your understanding, mind and spirit to be enlightened, in the name of Jesus so that you can see that which he has prepared for you. When you see that which he has prepared for you, you will be at peace, and you will walk in the fullness of your destiny.

Steps to Supernatural Intervention 4

Man can never be excluded from his rule in attracting Supernatural intervention. James 4:8 says...

"Draw near to me and I will draw near to you..."

So God was simply saying "do something about our relationship and you will see what I will do in response to what you have done."

Let us look at Mark 5:27-28 (NIV)

When she heard about Jesus she came behind and touched his garment what she said "if only I touch his garment I will be made well". 

The Bible gives us a little background about her condition. She had spent all she had, visited all the doctors she knew just to find the solution, but to no avail. At this point all hope was lost and she did not know what the future holds. But the Bible says that she "HEARD". Something entered her ears and that thing triggered a cause of action in her life.

Another interesting story in the Bible is the story of the blind Bartimaeus in Mark chapter 10. The Bible said that he "heard" that Jesus was passing by; what he could not see with his eyes, he picked up with his ears. The moment he heard that Jesus was coming he began to shout "Jesus thou son of David, have mercy on me. "Jesus (the supernatural) heard him, minister to him, and changed his life. A common denominator between the woman with the issue of blood and blind bartimaeus is that they both "HEARD" and that brought supernatural intervention in their lives.

Friends what you hear is extremely important. Jesus in Matthew 4 said "be careful the things you hear..." because the things you hear will affect your life. The laws of the spirit works a lot with the things you hear. Do you want to see God move and intervene in your life, look out for the things you are hearing because the things you are hearing is entering your heart and bringing about change. If what you are allow into your heart is positive, it will bring about positive change and vice versa.

May God give us Grace to be good custodians of the things that enter our hearts in the name of Jesus.

Steps to Supernatural Intervention 3

The supernatural doesn't just work because we love or know God. There are laws and these laws have to be obeyed or worked out for us to attract the supernatural and for it to find expression in our lives. These are also known as laws of the Kingdom. Furthermore, these laws work based on our knowledge and understanding of them. To attract the supernatural, we must take out time to study the laws of the Spirit of life according to Apostle Paul. These laws work within our hearts and set our minds in the right state to receive supernatural intervention and restoration.

Matthew 13:15 (NIV)

For these people's hearts have become callous, they hardly hear with their ears and their eyes are closed, otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts and turn, and I will heal them.

Human beings are programmable beings. The things that go into our eyes, ears and hearts have a way of reconditioning our lives. Jesus was addressing the rebellion of the people which was based on the corruption of their senses. Something was wrong with their information reception channels. Their eyes were blind to the laws, their ears were deaf to the laws, their hearts which in other words is their minds, could not understand the laws either. If all these were not the case, it would have led to a transformation of their spirit, giving occasion for the supernatural in their lives.

If we want to see the supernatural, we need to be intentional about it and cooperate with God by focusing our eyes, ears and hearts (minds and thoughts) on the things that God is saying. When we do this, a drastic change is initiated in our hearts which automatically brings a change on the outside.

God desires to move us to the next level, but we must walk with Him, yielding everything about us to Him; our eyes, our ears, our hearts and thoughts totally. When this is done you will see how His power will flow into our lives. When we focus on these things, we will see new dimensions of the supernatural in your lives in Jesus’ name.

Steps to Supernatural Intervention 2

The Supernatural do not always have to come with spectacular experiences. God’s conversation with Job, as simple as they were, was a supernatural experience. God asked him Job 38:33,"Do you know the laws of the heavens, can you set up the dominion of God on the earth."

God was asking Job if he had mastered the laws of the kingdom and if he could use it to advance his cause on the earth. Job understood what God was saying because in Job 29, Job spoke of a time when he had access to God’s secrets. With all that Job knew, he was still a victim of fear. He had agitations and anxieties about evil befalling him and in Job 3:25 he said, "…that which I feared most has come up on me..."

Job feared God but also was terrified that the devil could come through his children and bring calamity on his life. That law worked just as he thought and brought great suffering on Job and his family. According to spiritual laws, fear attracts the devil, just as faith attracts God. Job became a victim of the law he did not understand. Apostle Paul had and understanding of these laws and he said in Rom 8:6 (NKJV)

For to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and Peace.

Apostle Paul was exhorting us on the need to be careful with what we focus on. When we focus our minds on things that are not in line with God and his Kingdom, it will lead to death, a separation from the Person and power of God. But when we focus our minds on the Word of God and the things of the kingdom of God, we experience life and peace.

Job became a victim of the law of sin and death; he was betrayed by his fears because he didn't understand the laws and how they worked. If we are going to experience the supernatural interventions of God, we must guard our hearts. What is going on inside of us is more important than what is going on outside.

May God give us grace and strength to guard our hearts, so that the force of life that comes from the kingdom of God will flow out and produce the supernatural in our lives in Jesus’ Name.

Steps to Supernatural Interventions 1

It is very important that we understand the supernatural and how it works, it’s God’s desire for all His children. God asked Job a question that gives us an insight into the operation of the supernatural acts of God on the earth.

Job 38:33(NKJV)

Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God's dominion over the Earth?

In the New Living Translation it says,

Do you know the laws of the universe, can you use them to regulate the Earth?

The laws of the heavens are the laws of the kingdom of God, they are the laws that create the supernatural on earth. Jesus understood these laws and we see how He used it to demonstrate His mastery on earth. He was able to superimpose the laws of the heavens over the laws of the earth and operate the miraculous. That’s why we could see Jesus walk on water, feed thousands of people with 5 loaves and two fish. The Gospel of John 6 said, before he fed the thousand, He already knew what to do even though He didn’t have enough food.

Do you know what to do to release God's supernatural ability in your life?

Do you know how to use the laws of the heavens to control things on the earth?

The ability to understand and operate the supernatural with precision is what helps us walk in complete dominion on the earth. The good thing is that this ability can be learnt.

In school we can all be in year one but at different levels; someone is in year one in preschool, another in year one in primary school another in year one in secondary school another in year one in university. All are in school; all are in year one but all have different levels of understanding and mastery. There is mathematics or numeracy at all these levels but the mastery of concepts and laws are different. The same thing applies with supernatural laws. As we grow, through the different levels we begin to gain a deeper understanding of the laws of the heavens and the steps that we need to take to bring about supernatural intervention. This is why we all don’t have the same level of mastery over the supernatural because we are not at the same level. But the good news is that we can all learn.

I pray that God will make our spirits sensitive so that we can begin to learn more and more about the laws of the heavens.

Science, Scriptures and the Supernatural 7

God designed us to live a supernatural life, if not for the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the supernatural life would have been our normal way of life. Because of our original roots in the supernatural, humans still crave the supernatural experience. This craving is expressed in our desire to explore the unknown, attempt new things and the box office ratings of movies with supernatural undertones. Jesus alluded to the fact that the believer is destined for the supernatural when he said.

MK 16:17 says

"These signs shall follow those that believe..."

Many have the false belief that the supernatural life is meant for the clergy or some special class of believers. No! It is meant for everyone that believes. The bible says that the secret things belong to God but the things revealed are for us and our children so that we can profit from them. And Proverbs 2:7 says “Sound Wisdom is laid up for the righteous…” This Wisdom is laid up for us so that we can discover them and take advantage of them. The supernatural acts of God are usually a pointer to what He wants man to accomplish. Consider these encounters.

When God delivered Israel from the Egyptians by taking them across the Red Sea, that supernatural encounter gave the idea that man can go across the sea. Today with the help of science and technology man has been able to cross the sea using ships, bridges, airplanes and even submarines.

In 2nd Kings 3, Solomon displayed supernatural wisdom to solve a very complicated problem in his days. Two women were in contention over the motherhood of a baby. Solomon had the responsibility of proofing the identity of the real mother without any witness. He instructed that the baby be cut in two and divided to both of them, one agreed to his decision and the other said she’d rather give up the baby to the other woman than watch the baby die, only a mother would agree. That’s how Solomon was able to determine the true identity of the mother. The idea of proving the identity is done today by DNA test and other tests but Solomon by the supernatural wisdom of God demonstrated that ability first.

A man was reading the Book of Ezekiel about “wheels within wheels”  This divine insight gave him the idea to design shopping trolleys with wheels within wheels so that they can move easily in all directions. George Washington Carver, the great scientist said that God showed him how he could make over 400 items out of the peanut. Both men got inventions from supernatural encounters.

Discoveries in technology, art and science are simply God’s work that He allows mankind to find.

It’s time to believe God for supernatural ideas that will lead to new discoveries in all areas.

Science, Scriptures and the Supernatural 6

Yesterday we established the fact that a God-Man partnership is necessary to operate in the supernatural. When God was making man, He put the spirit of man in an earth molded body and with God’s breath man became a living being. In this process of creation, God was showing a principle that if He’s to manifest his glory on the Earth it must be a partnership with man. We see another example of this in the ministry of Elisha.

2 kings 6:5-7 (NLT)

5 But as one of them was cutting a tree, his ax head fell into the river. “Oh, sir!” he cried. “It was a borrowed ax!”6 “Where did it fall?” the man of God asked. When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at that spot. Then the ax head floated to the surface. 7 “Grab it,” Elisha said. And the man reached out and grabbed it.

An axe head has just sunk into the river. Elijah takes a stick which naturally should float, and throws it into the river at the spot that axe head sank. The stick sinks, and the axe head begins to float. This certainly is a miracle. But how did all these take place? Elisha did something in the natural before the Supernatural happened. First, he got a stick and threw it into the river; God did not do any of those things for him. When Elijah did what he could do, God did the supernatural act He couldn’t do by causing the stick to sink and the axe head to float. What Elisha did was a practical, repeatable action and it ushered in the supernatural.

 In 2Kgs.3, Elisha was consulted by the king of Judah over a battle that he was about to fight, he went in the company of the idol worshipping king of Israel. When Elisha saw the king of Israel, he was angry and in that state of mind he could not access the supernatural and get direction. To access the supernatural wisdom, he asked for a musician to play some music. Everyone knows that there is a science to the art of music, as the musician began to play, he was able to receive inspiration from God. The supernatural came from what God said, but by a “scientific action” Elisha re -conditioned the atmosphere to become conducive for God to work.

Like we asked yesterday, what are the “ordinary things” as we partner with God to perform then supernatural in our lives?

Science, Scriptures and the Supernatural 5

1 Corinthians 12:10 talks about the gift of the spirit and one of the Gifts Apostle Paul spoke about is the working of miracles, not the waiting for miracle, the wailing for miracle but the working of miracle. Miracles are worked out. There is a partnership between God and man that works out the supernatural in our lives. All through the gospels, we see Jesus working miracles with the Father.

Luke 9: 10 17 (NLT),

10 When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethsaida.

11 But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about the Kingdom of God, and he healed those who were sick.

12 Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”

13 But Jesus said, “You feed them.”

“But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?”

 14 For there were about 5,000 men there.

Jesus replied, “Tell them to sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

 15 So the people all sat down.

16 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people.

17 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!

There’s no way 5 loaves and two fishes can feed 5000 men without counting the women and children, except by a miracle, and that’s exactly what happened. And there was something systematic, a somewhat scientific approach to this miracle.

First, they had some method of stock keeping for them to know what they had left. They took a sample of the crowd to know that they had about 5000 men.  They organized these people by getting them to sit down in groups of 50s. Jesus then took the bread, blessed it, broke it and gave His disciples to distribute to the crowd, that’s when the supernatural happened. Some simple practical and repeatable activities were done and the supernatural took over from there.

My question to you is this; what are the practical repeatable actions you can take that would lay a foundation for the supernatural? This is how miracles are worked out. May God give insight in the Name of Jesus.
