Supernatural Interventions Today 1

Since the fall of man, human beings have gradually but steadily become drawn away from God’s Supernatural Intervention in their lives. From Adam & Eve hiding from God and making clothes of leaves for themselves to Abraham having a child from Hagar instead of Sarah or Moses thinking he could deliver Israel from Egypt by fight their way out as to God using a simple rod. Even in the early church, Apostle Paul was frustrated over the fact that some of God’s people had a problem believing God Supernatural act can raise the dead. 

Acts 26:8 NLT Why does it seem incredible to any of you that God can raise the dead?

Even today, there some Christians who don’t in God’s Supernatural intervention in people’s lives, especially when it is spectacular. Some say such spectacular manifestations ended in the era of the early church. But the bible says in 

Heb. 13: 8, NLT8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 

Whatever He did yesterday, He can do today and He can do forever. But we must believe Him for it. The Supernatural Interventions of God is for today and it still happens today.

Supernatural Intervention 11

The supernatural interventions of God does not always have to be spectacular. Some times it’s as simple as the simple salvation experience, prayer, giving or the still small voice talking to Elijah. Sometimes its as spectacular as Jesus’ walking on water, the dead being raised or the cripple walking. The truth is that in the kingdom of God, anything that proceeds from Rhema is supernatural, whether simple or spectacular they are still supernatural acts and they are nonetheless powerful.

The seed for the supernatural whether simple or spectacular is the Word of God.

Lk. 8:11 NLT11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is God’s word."

Anything we call supernatural that is not firmly rooted in the Word of is fake.

We must stir our faith afresh to be more conscious of God’s supernatural interventions develop our faith for it and appreciate God for His Supernatural involvement in our lives.

Supernatural Intervention 10

Supernatural Interventions of God is not just about God coming into our lives with His power to help us get out of trouble with some miraculous act, even though He does that. 

Supernatural Interventions is simply about God, as a loving Father being involved in our lives. That’s always being His plan even before the fall. So, whether things are going well in your life or not, God wants to be involved. That’s why we call Him Emmanuel

Matt.1:23 NKJV23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” (The Almighty God involved in every area of our lives). Even when there is the new heaven and earth where there is no evil, 

Revelation 21:3 NLT3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them."

We might not use the exact term “Supernatural Intervention of God” then, but its basically the same thing- God, our Loving Father being actively involved in our lives

Supernatural Interventions 9

People are generally fascinated by the supernatural because we are all spirits and there is a craving deep within our spirit to connect with our roots in the supernatural.

Acts. 8:9-11 gives us the account of a sorcerer named Simon, he had everyone in the city under his control by his powers, he was called the great power of God. Everyone, rich, poor, young, old, male and female were spellbound by him, the simple truth is that people are generally amazed at anything supernatural. Jesus’ ministry was not an exception, crowds followed Him everywhere, even the very erudite Nicodemus who was in the top echelon of the society came to see Him because there is an attraction we have for the supernatural.

Even Hollywood is not left out, of the top 3 highest grossing movies 2 of them have supernatural storylines. We all have a curiosity and some sort of quest for the supernatural, extraordinary life, it’s in our imagination and dreams and deep within our spirit we know it.

Let's look at Acts 9:3-5 (NLT)

"And as he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him and he fell to the ground; and he heard a voice say to him Saul, Saul why are you persecuting me? Who are you Lord? Saul asked, `I am Jesus the one you are persecuting."

Saul was a staunch pharisee and religious activist who didn't believe in Jesus nor recognized His Lordship. On his way to Damascus to persecute Christians, he had a supernatural encounter with Jesus and his response to Jesus when He called him was, "Who are you Lord?"  Why did he use the word LORD? It was Paul's spirit responding, his core being recognised the LORDSHIP of Jesus.

Years after Paul's conversion he went to Athens and saw that the people were very religious on one of the many altars was the inscription “TO AN UNKNOWN GOD", the people knew deep within them that there was a being or something above and beyond them and they addressed this supernatural being as the unknown god. Today we see this crave for the supernatural expressed in our different religions and beliefs; Buddhist, Islam, Christianity, Hindus to Atheism etc. They all are trying to connect to a supernatural being or disconnect as the case may be. Just as a baby instinctively knows how to suckle from the breast of the mother and the digestive system knows how to transform the milk into energy, the human spirit also instinctively gravitates to the things of the spirit and can relate with the supernatural because it is built into the core of our spirit.

My prayer is that God satisfies your quest in your spirit for the supernatural in the name of Jesus. May He reveal Himself to you in new and powerful ways in Jesus’ Name.

Supernatural Intervention 8

The term SUPERNATURAL refers to something beyond the natural. Many expect the spectacular when it comes to explaining or experiencing the supernatural, but this is not always the case. When we talk about INTERVENTION, it simply means involvement. So, when we talk about supernatural intervention, we are simply saying that God wants to be involved in your life. Sometimes this involvement can be spectacular, sometimes it can be simple but all the same it's about God getting involved in our lives.

There are Christians who believe that God can intervene and He does intervene in people’s lives; they just find it difficult to believe that He will intervene in their lives. They read about the mighty acts of God in the Bible and they are inspired, but that’s where it ends.  They believe the supernatural ended with the early church.

Jesus had an encounter with the Sadducees, one of the religious sects at the time of Jesus. They believed in God and the law but they didn't believe in the resurrection of the dead. All they believed was in earthly realities. This led them to ask Jesus questions that showed lack of understanding of life after death, the question was meant to prove that there was no resurrection or the supernatural but their attempt didn’t succeed.  

Matthew 22:29 NLT,

"Jesus answered and said to them you are mistaken not knowing the scriptures nor the power.

God has no problem raising the Dead. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, they all live because God is the author of life, centre of life and the giver of life. It is from there that the life we live flows. There is the natural life that ends with death and there is the eternal life, very life of God that never ends. It is just like we have the Logos, which is the natural written Word of God and the Rhema which is the revealed, spirit Word of God. It is this Rhema that God uses to birth the supernatural in our lives.

I pray that you will encounter the God of the supernatural again as we go beyond the Logos to Rhema in Jesus’ Name.

Supernatural Intervention 7

In academia the first degree is called the bachelor's degree. The second degree is called the master's degree. Then the third degree is the PhD. Now from basic mathematics we know we have 360° so, I thought, if our first three degrees are what culminates in what we call PhD, then we are still largely ignorant. If you subtract 3 degrees from 360 degrees you will have 357 degrees out there. The simple truth is that there are many more things that we don’t know out there. In the May 2011 edition of space.com, it was reported that all the stars, planets and galaxies that can be seen make up just 4% of the universe, the other 96% are made up of things unknown to astronomers. This unknown is referred to as dark matter.

If there is still so much out there to discover, is it possible some things are just beyond the limits of our five senses? Is it possible that our spirits can access much more than is available in creation that what our physical senses can? I believe so, God designed life to be discovered in the spiritual or supernatural realm first before we bring the experience into the physical or natural realm. The fall of man in the Garden of Eden was what caused the reversal, where people on the natural level are struggling to believe and experience the supernatural.

Apostle Paul was a man that ascended the level of natural knowledge before experiencing the heights of the supernatural through Christ. Based on a good understanding of the two he said

1st Corinthians 15:19 NLT,

And if our hope in Christ is only for this life alone, we are more to be pitied than everyone in the world."

If our confidence is only in this three-dimensional, natural world, then we are in a very sorry state. Anyone whose complete confidence is only in this natural world is to be pitied because even the thing we see clearly is a strong evidence of the reality of the unseen. (Rom. 1:20)

 My prayer for you is that the Holy Ghost will unveil the supernatural depths of God to you so that your life will be maximised to its fullness as God designed it to be in Christ.

 Supernatural Interventions 6

Bible accounts and stories are not just “make believe”, fictional stories, they are accounts of real people with historical facts that can be verified. Several bible truths have been authenticated by science and archaeological discoveries. Bible personalities   like Joseph and Daniel are two out of the many others.

In the story of Joseph, Pharaoh had a dream that nobody could understand or interpret. At that time, Pharaoh was the king of the most powerful nation in the world, he had the wisest crop of men around him including; magicians, sorcerers, astrologers etc. Pharaoh consulted them to interpret his dream but all their attempts failed, until Joseph showed up on the scene. By the help of the Spirit of God, Joseph didn’t only interpret Pharaoh’s dream, he also gave him the solution to the problem Pharaoh saw in his dream. When Pharaoh heard all that Joseph had said he asked "Can we find such a man as this in this Kingdom in whom the spirit of the gods dwells?" At that moment Pharaoh made Joseph the Prime Minister and decreed that all his people will be ruled by Joseph. Pharaoh’s decree brought all the powers of Egypt and their gods under the control of Joseph and the God of the Hebrews.

Daniel’s experience was similar to Joseph’s. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that was troubling him. He assembled all the wise men of Babylon and demanded them to tell him the dream since he had forgotten it and to also tell him the interpretation of his dream. None of the wisemen of Babylon had a solution to the king's problem but Daniel by the help of his God had the answer for the king. When Nebuchadnezzar heard the dream and interpretation as given by Daniel, he prostrated before Daniel and said,       

Daniel 2:47 NKJV,

"The king said to Daniel surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and he is the revealer of mysteries for you were able to reveal this."

When it comes to the supernatural, God the father of our Lord Jesus Christ is in a class of His own. No power or force comes close to Him. He is the source and sustainer of everything and the supreme Spirit over all spirits.

 Hebrews 12:9

"Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us and we have paid them respect; shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the father of our spirit and life."

God is called the Father of all spirits, that includes Lucifer. IF GOD SHUTS DOWN, EVERYTHING SHUTS DOWN even the devil and all his operations. The supernatural intervention of God is the ultimate power.

When it comes to supernatural interventions, we don’t need to look beyond God through our Lord Jesus. May you see Him afresh in His power in Jesus’ Name.

 Christ and you will see the way God will radically transform your life.

Supernatural Interventions 5 

Monday 5th July.

There is no doubt that the supernatural are real, however we need to understand what kind of supernatural influences we are opening ourselves up to. There are the supernatural realities of the Kingdom of God and there is also that of the Kingdom of Darkness, we must not allow ourselves to be confused or deceived.  It is important that we never forget that there are negative and positive supernatural influences and interventions. 1John 1:5 says, “God is light and in him there is no darkness at all…” But darkness will always try to imitate the light.

1Cor 11:14-15

But I am surprised even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, it is no wonder that his servants disguise themselves as the agents if righteousness, in the end they would be get the punishment that their wicked deed deserves.

Paul was calling our attention to the reality of the negative supernatural so that we don’t get deceived. Many people whose desire for supernatural interventions from God  have been deceived and gotten supernatural interventions from the kingdom of darkness thinking it is from God and this has brought them into unimaginable bondage.

King Saul was a victim of such deception. In his desperation to get direction from God which was not coming because of his disobedience, Saul went to a witch to help him call up the spirit of Samuel supernaturally so he could ask him for direction. What the witch usually did was to conjure another evil spirit pretending to be the person from the dead and would give a false message. The witch had taught the same lying evil spirit would do the same thing but God allowed the spirit of Samuel to really appear to the utter surprise of the witch and he rebuked Saul for his wrong action in seeking the supernatural intervention of God through a witch. (1 Sam. 28)

In our desire to experience the supernatural we must be mindful of the deception of the devil. Apostle Paul in 2 Thess. 2:9 spoke about lying wonders,

I pray that God will give us the grace for discernment as we follow God by His Word in Jesus name.

Supernatural Interventions 4

We have discussed the difference between the natural and the supernatural and it is clear that what brought mankind down to natural life was the fall in the Garden of Eden. When God created Adam and Eve, they operated as divinity and lived as spirit beings in a human body. After the fall mankind dropped from the spiritual height that God had placed them to the natural where he came under all physical elements of this world. Since then, the human race has been trapped and living within the limitations of the physical world.

The universe that God created is beyond this physical world, it extends into the unseen, supernatural realm world and in that realm, there are no limitations like that of this physical world that we live in. When we have a good understanding of this supernatural, unseen realm, we can leverage it to our advantage.

It is important we understand that not all the supernatural forces in the spiritual realm are godly forces, Lucifer the fallen angel and a host of other fallen angels also exist in this supernatural, unseen realm, and just as we had to differentiate between the natural and spiritual, it’s important we understand the difference between the positive supernatural and the negative supernatural, between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan

 Exodus 7:10-12 (NLT)

 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did what the lord had commanded them. Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent! Then Pharaoh called in his own wise men and sorcerers, and these Egyptian magicians did the same thing with their magic. They threw down their staff, which also became serpents! But then Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs

This display in the court of Pharaoh gives us a clear picture of these two kingdoms.  Moses and Aaron represent the kingdom of God while Pharaoh and his sorcerers represent the kingdom of darkness.  We see the supernatural abilities in both kingdoms as they were both able to turn dead sticks into living snakes but the power and glory of the Kingdom of God is seen in the fact that Moses’ rod (serpent) swallowed up all the other rods (serpents) put together. This was to establish that the kingdom of God rules and reigns over all other kingdoms.

Understand that in the supernatural realm there is the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness and both exert powers but we can be rest assured that the Kingdom of God rules over all other kingdoms and if you are a child of God know that "…greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world".

Supernatural Interventions 3

We are still talking about “The Supernatural Interventions of God.” My prayer is that this month will be a new experience of supernatural encounter in your life in the name of Jesus. In our study yesterday we discussed Nicodemus’ encounter with Jesus as he tried to understand this supernatural life. Having observed the miraculous evidence that followed Jesus, he wanted to know the secret. Jesus said that secret was not in anything He was doing but a function of how He was born. This response confused Nicodemus the more. Jesus told him the was the natural birth and the was the spiritual birth, this spiritual birth by the Holy Spirit was the secret to the supernatural in His life.

John 3: 6 (NKJV),

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jesus showed Nicodemus the root of the supernatural life that compels supernatural interventions. The natural birth produces natural results and the spiritual birth by the Spirit produces supernatural results. This birth by the Spirit is our initiation into the Kingdom of God which in turn qualifies us for Supernatural Interventions as our birthright. The fall of man from the Kingdom of God to the Kingdom was what made a spiritual rebirth by the Holy Spirit necessary. The fall dropped man from the supernatural realm of the kingdom of God to the natural realm which is under the control of Satan. God is limited in what He can do when we remain in the natural realm. The natural way is not the way of God but when we rise up to the realm of the Spirit in the Kingdom of God, the possibilities are endless.    

In Galatians 4:21 -31, we see how Paul was explaining to the Galatians God’s disapproval for things that follow the natural instead of the Spirit and gave the example of Ismael and Isaac. Ishmael is a product of Abraham and Hagar’s natural attempt to get what God had promised but God did not approve of this natural way. It was not until Abraham stayed with the promise of God and produced Isaac with Sarah that God gave His blessing. This was the same lesson Jesus was teaching Nicodemus centuries later, “…that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit.”

The platform for the supernatural is life in the Spirit. I pray the Holy Spirit gives you greater understanding of this so you can develop and deepen your spiritual walk in Jesus’ Name.
