The Name of Jesus 7

The name of Jesus is awesome and powerful, but for it to deliver results, we must put it to use. Without active faith, we cannot benefit from its power.

In some countries, police officers can command obedience from citizens by saying, " Stop, in the name of the law." This phrase invokes all the authority of the government, and disobedience becomes an offense. The same principle applies to the name of Jesus—it carries and it’s backed by the divine authority of the kingdom of God. However, the key question is: Do you have confidence in His name? Regardless of how powerful the name of Jesus is, without faith, it cannot work for you.

Acts 3:16 (TPT), "Faith in Jesus’ name has healed this man standing before you. It is the faith that comes through believing in Jesus’ name that has made the crippled man walk right in front of your eyes!"

Peter and John had met this crippled man who had been sitting at the temple gate begging for 40 years. He begged them for money as he normally would, but Peter declared to him,

"Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!" (Acts. 3:6) At that moment, the man rose and walked, healed by the power in the name of Jesus. That Name Still Works Today. Faith in the name of Jesus still heals, delivers, and transforms lives. This name:

✔ Breaks barriers

✔ Destroys yokes

✔ Transforms destinies

✔ Reveals the power of Christ’s sacrifice

The name of Jesus is our access to victory. As you reflect on this, may faith rise within you, and may you begin to actively put His name to work.

The Name of Jesus 6

We have been studying the name of Jesus – the origin of the name, what’s in the name, its purpose, why it’s so powerful and its influence in all realms. With this knowledge, how do we activate this power in our lives?

The name of Jesus carries limitless possibilities, yet it must be put to work if you will see it work in your life. It’s like having substantial amount of money in your bank account, if you don’t sign the cheque that represents your identity or input your personal identification number (PIN), you won’t be able to access the money even though it’s yours. In the same way, God has placed everything under the authority of Jesus (Philippians 2:9-11), but we must put it to work by faith.

Songs of Solomon 1:3 CEV and you smell so sweet. All the young women adore you; the very mention of your name is like spreading perfume.

Rom 10:13 GWT So then, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

The scent of a perfume remains dormant until it is sprayed. Similarly, the power in the name of Jesus is released when we call on it in faith. This is not a casual mention—it is a deep invocation from a heart of worship and submission.

We must learn to make a demand on His name always, using it in faith and not fear or doubt, in prayers, praise and declaring it in the face of life’s challenges, knowing it carries divine authority.

When you call on the name of Jesus, you release the fragrance of dominion, favour, angelic forces and whatever the name has been ordained to represent to you. It releases God’s presence, brings safety, and establishes His rule in our lives. It’s time to begin to actively and intentionally use the name of Jesus.

The Name of Jesus 5

The power in the name of Jesus is not from the fact that He’s just another respected religious leader or the founder of Christianity, Jesus Christ is much more that. He’s God Who came in human flesh, gave His life for mankind’s sin, the Lord of all, having all power and authority. The name is not an honorary title—it was earned through obedience and sacrifice.

After creation, God gave man dominion over the earth (Psalm 115:16). However, when man fell, authority over the earth was handed to the devil. God remained sovereign over heaven, but Satan ruled over the earth and the underworld. Jesus came in the flesh, entered the fallen world, endured temptation, suffered, died, went to hell, conquered Satan there and rose again. As a result of this, He reclaimed dominion over all realms—heaven, earth, hell and everywhere.

Php 2:8-11 GNB He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death—his death on the cross. 9 For this reason God raised him to the highest place above and gave him the name that is greater than any other name. 10 And so, in honor of the name of Jesus all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees, 11 and all will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This passage highlights the authority Jesus now holds, that is why His name is recognised and carries the authority in all realms. Everything and every being that has a name in all realms must submit to the authority of His name, whether it be sickness, oppression, power, any earthly or spiritual force. Everything must submit to His name—willingly or forcefully.

So, no matter what challenge we face, the name of Jesus is above it and it is your responsibility to us it, invoking it with faith.

The Name of Jesus 4

Why is the name of Jesus so powerful, what’s the significance and why can we have confidence in it?

When Jesus came into the world as a man, He came into a world that was under the dominion of the devil. But there are things He did while here that helped Him reclaim our dominion back from the devil.

Php 2:8-11 GNB He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death—his death on the cross. 9 For this reason God raised him to the highest place above and gave him the name that is greater than any other name. 10 And so, in honor of the name of Jesus all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees, 11 and all will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus, was equal with God came into the world and became like a servant. He lived on earth for over 33 years, faced temptations, rejection, false accusations until His crucifixion. He died, went to hell, confronted and defeated the devil in hell. He overcame death, rose again, and presented His blood in heaven as the ultimate sacrifice. For all He did for the redemption and restoration of mankind, God honoured Him by giving Him the highest name, one that carries power in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

In human society, people receive titles and honours for great achievements—whether as national heroes, leaders, or influential figures. Similarly, Jesus earned His name through His sacrifice, obedience, and ultimate victory over sin and death. This is why the name of Jesus carries power over every force in every realm—whether spiritual or physical. The name is not just a title of honour, it was earned.

As a result of what Jesus has done, we can have confidence in His name, know that it’s really above every other name.
