Damn Fine TV

This week on the Damn Fine TV podcast…

The Twin Peaks void can’t be filled with just one TV show, so we’re here to discuss eight different ones. Welcome back to the Weekly Watch! We catch up on shows like Umbrella Academy and American Horror Stories, and give some recommendations for shows that have been bringing us joy lately. Plus, we can’t believe how much we’re both loving Westworld S4, and we head down an unexpected rabbit hole while chatting about it - who’s your Daddy Delos?

Also, quick follow up from J - Countdown is a game show about Maths and LETTERS, not Maths and numbers. *palm to forehead*

What have you been watching? Are you enjoying the new seasons of AHStories and Westworld? Head to our Instagram to let us know!

Join us as we wrap our coverage of Twin Peaks The Return. We share some of our favorite moments, our least favorite characters, the storylines we believe are underrated, the places we loved spending time, the Roadhouse performances that had us jamming out, and so much more! PLUS, we got some amazing listener feedback that we can’t wait for you to hear!

This episode was recorded in front of a live studio audience - er, like, a Zoom call for our Patrons - so there is a video version available for anyone on the Tardigrade Detective level and up. Check the link below for more info!

And though we are moving on to other TV shows, we do have plans to keep the Twin Peaks conversation going, so stay tuned for more details!

Awkward road trips. Cringey hook-ups. Unpleasant men. Uncomfortable doorway conversations. And clunky jazz. There’s something for everyone in The Return Part 18! Join us as we bid farewell to our episodic coverage of Twin Peaks and contemplate this question: Is it the story of the little girl who lived down the lane? IS IT?

This episode is also available in video format, exclusively for our Bookhouse Babes tier on Patreon - check out the link below for more info!

Grab some some bread sticks and a nice chee-anti, Finers, and join us as we discuss Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 9! There were only a few things that didn't work for us about this epic finale, so we get those out of the way first, before having a general chat about the episode overall, and then share a few theories on what might await us in season 5.

Our BFFs from Talking Backwards (minus Tyler, sadly) are back to help us take a deep dive into The Return: Part 17. And it’s a good thing too, because we have a lot of questions.

Like, why did Gordon keep such important info from Albert? Was Andy putting on a show for Mr. C? Can Freddie see bloody-face-Billy-the-drunk? Why is James here? Which Cooper does the superimposed face belong to? Why doesn’t the One Armed Man talk backwards anymore? Why does Jeffries say “you can go IN now?” (He’s obviously as crass as the Damn Fine Duo since he also mentioned how slippery things were in there!) And does Cooper like Candy and her sandwiches, or is he over it?

We’d love to hear your thoughts on The Return Part Seventeen, or our coverage of it - head to our Instagram and hit us up in the comments section!

Check out the guys from Talking Backwards in all the places…
