Wow can you believe it, I am just pumping out the episodes there is no stopping me on my way to 300 now. Here today with me I have mister Logan Priest. He is a household name in the Brisbane dance scene and soon he will be a household name in all households. My new best friend Logan and I simply chimp out for one hour at Michael Jackson's live show discussing all things air agreement, insecurity, intuition, creativity, and weak wrist dancing related. You can also watch is having this conversation on youtube if you prefer. @thedancebantsshow
Today on the show I am excited to welcome a very inspiring woman to me, Meg Cooper, the founder and owner of Brisbane's Mad Dance House! We discuss her journey from teaching ballet in church halls to becoming an entrepreneur running a GINORMOUS studio. We talk about her inspirations, passions and values as well as her advice for dancers. You can watch us on Youtube having this conversation @thedancebantsshow
Today on the show I am excited to share with you a conversation with Max, also known as Thv Flood. This is in fact the first time Max has broken his silence since dropping his first Flood vid 2 years ago. If you don't already know this video caused waves and broke the internet and Max received daily slams and death threats. He didn't reply to one of them and now he is here to share his story. This is one of my proudest dance bants episodes and it's a mad yarn. If you want to watch it instead it is also on Youtube @thedancebantsshow
Today on the show I have the amazing Tiana Canterbury! Tiana has had an unbelievable career and is a respected and admired woman in our industry with experience working as Janet Jackson's body double, choreographing for many musicians and telly shows, and being Red Bull Dance Your Style's scene expert. It was an exciting pleasure to take in her energy. As you will discover I capitalised on this opportunity by asking many intrusive and niche questions such as what is the secret to anti aging because we all want to know how to look like Tiana after three children. We also discuss her advice for young cats coming up, and her recent interest and direction towards the ENERGY CENTRES! Please enjoy
Today on the show I have TALIA is who a huge inspiration to me. Talia has mad style and has recently endeavoured into the world of popping from choreography and commercial dance which is very DAUNTING if you ask me. We discuss that transition and our experiences freestyling and battling.
Today on the show I have Vanessa Marian, founder of Groove Therapy and movement director for every brand under the sun. We have found ourselves serendipitously in the same town and thus it is my honour to have an onsite yarn with Vanessa. I felt very inspired and ready to do business after this conversation was over and I highly recommend it for anyone looking at movement direction or being casted in anything in general. We talk auditions, red flags for agents, how to work in professional environments, establishing a brand or identity and finances; all topics that give me the heeby jeebies but it was less heeby and more fun education. I hope you enjoy! You can also catch us visually having the same conversation on youtube where you can see me ducking on repeat to the ominous swarm of sparrows that kept flying in circles over my head during the episode @thedancebantsshow
Today on the show I am overjoyed to share a conversation with Luc Jacobs. Luc is well known for his work as a dancer and then Rehearsal Director of the Batsheva Dance Company aka my favourite dance company for 18 years. Needless to say I was busting with excitement to talk to him and he delivered very much the kind of funny wig out I expected regarding what is dance or movement really, how he likes to choreograph, how sensation doesn't have a weight and his epic career that only continues to expand since he is now doing Sleep No More with Punchdrunk!!!!! Please enjoy
Today on the show we have Kira Holland, legend of the community and wise cowboy from the inner west. We discuss Kira's full time Qld Ballet life and her journey to One Dance community. We talk about her cancer experience and the epic One dance/PB jam show that raised money for her during that time. I shed tears about dancing. it's been a really long time since I uploaded, wow but we keep on charging full steam towards 300 episodes love youz
My horse friend Mathilde and I cross the world to zoom
Today on the show we have Linda Gamblin, Head of training at Sydney Dance Company and the creator of pre professional year aka PPY aka the full time course I did! Linda had a huge career dancing with the Royal Ballet Company, Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and the National Ballet of Portugal! Linda tells her story and we discuss the full-time course she developed that has now grown to have three coordinators and about 60 students! We also talk about Linda's breast cancer journey and the lessons she realised through this. It is an honour to have Linda on, she is one of the most inspiring people who has influenced me and so many people in my journey. Dance Bants is getting VERY pre professional. I also can't believe I could finally talk about full time with a real course director on my show. Catch us on Youtube if you prefer to watch the conversation @thedancebantsshow.
