Pavel Acevedo, Oaxacan printmaker based in Riverside, California. His artwork uses the traditional language of relief print on wood. He was  awarded a fellowship from “James Irvine Foundation.”  Acevedo was part of two simultaneous projects at Getty Pacific Standard Time, Visualizing Language: Oaxaca in LA at the Los Angeles Central Library and Self Help Graphics,  and “ Myth and Mirage” with photographer Douglas McCulloh at the Riverside Art Museum. 

Abel Alejandre (1968, Michoacán, Mexico) is a Mexican-born, United States-based hyperrealist artist, best known for his explorations of masculinity and vulnerability. Working primarily in pencil, Alejandre creates intricately cross-hatched drawings that can take months to complete. Alejandre's series of twelve panels, "Panoramas," is featured at the Los Angeles Metro Rancho Park/Westwood station.

Alejandre also creates woodblock prints using both a giant press he built himself and by hand printing. His monumental My Fathers, which is in the permanent collection at the National Museum of Mexican Art, in Chicago, Illinois, was created by the latter method.

Garzon is currently the Gallery Director at Residency Art in Inglewood, CA. Born and raised in Inglewood, Garzon saw that there was a dearth of commercial art spaces in South Central that centered artists’ of color and provided a platform for their work. This led to the formation of Residency Art, which is committed to celebrating contemporary artists that continue to make projects for communities of color. 

Before his work in the art space, Garzon worked in advertising and media planning as Media Director at the Publicis Groupe in Los Angeles and New York. Garzon has served on the Young Professionals’ Advisory Board of InnerCity Arts and the LA County Department of Arts and Culture public art selection committees. Garzon has curated several noteworthy exhibitions including The New Contemporaries 1&2, Vaguely Political by Devin Reynolds, 1992: An Examination of the Iconography from the '92 LA Rebellion and Atmosphere of Certain Uncertainty by Devin B. Johnson. He has also led curatorial efforts for Felix Art Fair, Art Basel Miami and Our LA Voices at Grand Park.

Pilar Tompkins Rivas will join the Lucas Museum on July 13 from the Vincent Price Art Museum (VPAM) at East Los Angeles College, where she has served as director and chief curator since 2016. As chief curator and deputy director of curatorial and collections at the Lucas Museum, Tompkins Rivas will provide leadership, strategic direction, and managerial oversight for curatorial, exhibitions, acquisitions, collections management, conservation, archives, and publications. At VPAM she spearheaded partnerships between the museum and the Smithsonian, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and the Huntington Library, Art Collection and Botanical Gardens, and launched diversity pipeline programs including a museum studies certificate program. Prior to her tenure at VPAM, she served as the coordinator of curatorial initiatives at LACMA, co-directing the institution’s UCLA/LACMA Art History Practicum Initiative and the Andrew W. Mellon Undergraduate Curatorial Fellowship Program in addition to co-curating exhibitions in partnership with the Getty's Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA initiative. Tompkins Rivas has also served as the curator and director of artist-in-residence programs at the 18th Street Arts Center, the arts project coordinator at the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, and the curator of the Claremont Museum of Art. She is completing a Ph.D. in cultural studies and holds an M.A. in cultural studies from Claremont Graduate University, in addition to a B.A. in Latin American studies and a B.F.A. in studio art from the University of Texas at Austin.

Eddika Édule Organista is an artist, composer of music, poetry. a guitar player and
singer. Born in Los Angeles, first generation from Mexican parents, grew up both in
California and various states of Mexico. As a child, her exposure to instruments and
singing, resulted in her interest in the guitar and song writing as a teenager. She went to
Pasadena City College studying art and music in the jazz department under Bobby
Bradford, transferring later to UCLA getting her Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnomusicology
and Brazilian Portuguese. Spanish, is her first language and having studied Portuguese
in Brazil, she sings and composes in Spanish and Portuguese. She has played with local
Los Angeles trio, El Haru Kuroi, for over a decade. With this trio she has recorded three
full length albums, several singles on vinyl, produced four music videos, toured within
several states of the U.S. and abroad in Japan. Eddika was also the front woman of a
group formed in 2015 named Yanga, which is a hybrid of Colombian traditional music.
They have released singles and have toured to Arizona, Chicago, New York,
Philadelphia and Washington D.C. where they had the opportunity to perform at the
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2019. Since 2020 she has
composed, recorded and released singles as a solo artist under her middle name Édule.
She is currently building her career as a soloist.

Noé Montes is an award-winning photographer based in Los Angeles. The themes of his work are race and power. He has been making images for 20 years with a strong focus on community and social justice issues, and has extensive experience working with educational, cultural and civic institutions and non-profit organizations. Montes’ list of commissions includes work for the Annenberg Foundation, the California Community Foundation, the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Police Foundation, L.A. Metro and The Getty Foundation.

Jocelyn Ramirez is a plant-based chef, cookbook author, yoga instructor, entrepreneur and advocate for healthy food access in her community. She is the founder of Todo Verde, one of LA’s acclaimed plant-based Mexican food businesses. 

Jocelyn’s background includes degrees in fine art, design and business and has also trained at the Matthew Kenney Culinary Institute. Her work has been featured in several press outlets including NY Times, LA Times, Food & Wine, Vice, Smithsonian, Bon Appetit, and more. She is currently a recipe contributor for NYT Cooking, and sits on the culinary advisory board for Food Forward and the Leadership Board for the Los Angeles Food Policy Council. 

Daniel Gibson grew up in the border town of El Centro, five minutes north of Mexicali, Baja Mexico. The scenes in his works intermingle abstracted human figures, elements of nature, objects, and occasionally small narratives to a dream-like end.

DAN GUERRERO is an award-winning producer of diverse programming for network and cable television and of live arts and culture concert events. He’s helmed talk shows and music specials for NBC, PBS, HBO, Univision and Telemundo and directed large-scale concert events at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, the Cite de la Musique in Paris, France and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC among other prestigious venues.
