100 episodes. Four seasons. Three and a half years. And somehow… I made it to the final episode. 🔴

For the very last episode of Dani Dot, I'm tying up the loose ends.

Im going back through the stories, the people, the places, the questionable decisions, the things I thought I wanted, the lessons I apparently needed to learn the hard way, and a few things Past Dani definitely deserves an update on.

From Queenstown clubbing stories to solo travelling Thailand. Friendships that came and went. Dating, career changes, fitness eras, moving home, turning 40 looming on the horizon and, somehow, finally meeting Jason fucking Momoa.

This podcast started as me talking about my life.

Somewhere along the way, it became a record of me changing it.

So for Episode 100, there's only one thing left to do.

Tie up the loose ends, connect the final dot and turn off the microphone.

There won't be an Episode 101.

There’s something pretty powerful about coming back to your roots and realising… yep, this still feels like me.

This week on the podcast, I’m talking about being back in Queenstown and how much lighter life feels. Familiar places, familiar people, mountain air and that feeling of finally settling back into a version of life that just fits.

But apparently I’ve also created another problem for myself: I cannot stop thinking about travelling again. 

After the freedom and flexibility of Thailand, coming home has made me realise just how much I loved waking up somewhere new, having nowhere I had to be and being able to decide what came next as I went.

And yes, I already have more trips planned… but there’s still this little voice saying, “Okay, but when are we going back to Thailand?”

Maybe you can come home to your roots while still growing wings.

This one’s about home, freedom, travel, Queenstown, Thailand and figuring out what it means when two completely different versions of life both feel like you.

This week’s Dani Dot podcast is less of a carefully planned episode and more of a good old-fashioned life catch-up because apparently I’ve been far too busy socialising to prepare a proper topic.

I’m almost a month back in Queenstown, almost settled into the new normal, almost on a plane to Rarotonga… and almost wrapping up the podcast indefinitely while I figure out what I actually want my routine to look like from here.

There’s been gym membership drama, random supermarket encounters, suspiciously attractive men arriving to buy things off Marketplace, unexpected number exchanges in new bars, Queenstown weather having absolutely no idea what season it is, and some fabulous weekends of sport.

So grab a coffee, wine or whatever you’re drinking and come have a weekly debrief with me. No major life lesson. No perfectly packaged topic. Just a lot of little moments, a few laughs, and me figuring out what this next chapter might actually look like.

When I started Dani Dot, I thought I was simply documenting my life. Turns out, I was documenting my growth.

In this episode, I’m reflecting on the wild ride of four seasons of stories, lessons, laughs, heartbreaks, friendships, adventures, questionable decisions, unexpected plot twists, and all the little moments that shaped me along the way.

The final chapter of my Asia adventure is here... and what a way to finish.

After falling in love with Koh Samui, I boarded a short flight to Phuket with absolutely no expectations-other than a long list of warnings from people telling me to avoid it.

What followed was one of the most chaotic, hilarious, and unexpected chapters of my Thailand adventure.

From navigating Patong Beach on a $4 bus, checking into a stunning 5-star hotel on the 24th floor, sipping rooftop margaritas, and experiencing the sensory overload that is Bangla Road, to escaping the madness on a snorkelling tour that somehow involved rough seas, mystery islands, a new friend from London, and a bus full of strangers bonding over one unforgettable fart incident.

I share the highs, lows, culture shocks, travel mishaps, airport dramas, and the moments that reminded me why solo travel is one of the greatest adventures you can have.

My biggest takeaway? Don't let social media make your travel decisions for you. Some of the best experiences happen when you stop over-planning, embrace the unknown, and trust that even when things go wrong, you've still got 24 hours in the day to make it right.

Because at the end of the day-you don't know what you don't know.
