July 16, 2021The Courage to Embrace Your Emotions with guest Diana AcunaJoin me with guest Diana Acuna talking about embracing your emotions as opposed to avoiding them. Diana grew up in a home where the expression of emotions was unwelcome and discouraged. Shutting down and avoiding emotions was her default as a young woman. Since hiding and avoiding emotions is a fear based behavior, she was afraid to be herself and afraid of what others thought of her, so she became a perfectionist, Once she finally chose courage over fear, she realized that expressing her opinions, feelings and emotions wasn't going to kill her. In fact, people engaged and responded positively. She realized that by being true to herself and her values and trusting herself, she could let go of that nagging comparison and fear of rejection. Today Diana is a Senior Manager at Mavenlink which is a SaaS solution for project, resource management and accounting. She's also started her own business to speak and coach young professionals to embrace their emotions. Diana's website: http://dianatalks.com/...more30minPlay

June 28, 2021Being Your True Self with guest Sahar Raman DeepJoin me with guest Sahar Raman Deep talking about her life changing journey to being her true self. Sahar was born in a remote village in the state of Punjab in India. She grew up in a joint family, where the mother-in-law was cruel to her daughters-in law-so, as a child, Sahar witnessed much mental and physical abuse. She started to write at a very young age, turning the pain in her heart into poetry. She later learned that being friends with herself was the best thing that could ever happen to her. Forceful arranged marriage created a discord inside of her. It shielded her from herself, from her own being. She got lost and fell prey to anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder and much more. It took her 15 long years to take control of herself again. Now, she's back not only for herself but for her extended self. And her extended self is the light of calmness and happiness that is present in every being. Sahar has two masters degrees and is author of three books of poetry.
