Dr. Sohail Gandhi is the immediate past-president of the Ontario Medical Association. He has practiced rural Family Practice in Stayner, Ontario since 1992 and continues to hold hospital privileges at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Dr. Gandhi is currently an assistant clinical professor at Queen's University Medical School and a lecturer in medicine at the University of Toronto. He has held leadership positions at both the OMA and in the community, including Medical Staff Executive and Chief of Family Practice at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, and Chair of the Board of the Georgian Bay Family Health Team. Michael Jobity lives to bring the future closer; a digital native, Michael recently moved to England to work at Airbus Operations Ltd. in Bristol, UK and spearheaded digital process improvement to achieve Industry 4.0. Michael was featured across Airbus central and recognized as a Future Leader of Tomorrow for his innovative work within Bristol's major plants; commercial, military and additive manufacturing. Now back in Canada, Michael will complete his final year of Engineering Physics & Management at McMaster University. He recently met with Bill Nye the Science Guy on the topic of climate change, was appointed as a Google Suite Champion & IET (London) STEM communicator, and has traveled across the world to lead large digital automation projects. Michael recently gave the keynote speech for the Business France Automation Event at Miller Thomson and will be an Expert Speaker at the Advanced Transportation Manufacturing Summit in Toronto this February! In his spare time, Michael hosts the "PassionPlay" podcast (featured in the University of Liverpool news) and composes music as an accomplished pianist. During her undergraduate degree she was a research assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children, and a student researcher paired with the Canadian Centre for Refugee and Immigrant Health Care. Bio continued... During her time completing her masters, she worked on harm reduction projects, as well as pandemic influenza plans. She also worked with a W.H.O. collaborating centre for global health research initiatives, looking at how the mental health of health care workers impacts patient outcomes. While in Vancouver, she co-developed a ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ workshop that is geared to introducing youth into the field of public health and outbreak investigation, which has been presented at events like the Gairdner Global Health Symposium. Chelsie is currently a Master of Disaster and Emergency Management candidate at York University where she focuses on public health disasters, and building resilient communities. Her current research looks at how the response of COVID-19 globally and nationally impacts marginalized populations. Chelsie was recently appointed to the Youth Council of Canada’s Chief Science Advisor. Along with the other council members, Chelsie’s role is to provide unique youth-focused perspectives, and inform on key science-related issues facing Canadians, included the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Chelsie has founded the COVID-19 F.A.C.T. Working Group with some young professionals. This Working Group aims to provide the public with informative and educational materials related to the current COVID-19 outbreak through the promotion of accurate and scientifically-sound information. The purpose of this working group is to amplify information validated by credible sources, while advocating against the spread of misinformation, and build science literacy capacity in the general public.

Candice Lam is currently an English Teacher teaching in Prague, Czech Republic. Originally from Toronto, Canada, she had wanted to travel around Europe and found the opportunity to get certified to teach through a one-month abroad program in a city she barely knew anything about. Fast forward a year later, Candice has now found her place in this city that she calls home, nurtures her rock climbing techniques and gives her opportunities to play pretend on a stage. She'll be discussing with us how her life in the Czech Republic has been impacted by COVID-19.
