This talks about what's it's like to experience a flashback. Specifically what I imagine combat flashbacks are like, but truthfully I draw from my own experiences having them. A certain perfume, walking into one room and "waking up" in another because a smell. Other experiences my dad had helped me craft this particular story.

This story touches on my struggles with getting a good nights sleep for the last 20+ years. The pauses you hear are blank spaces in the book because certain individuals are still alive and it's still too personal to share my entire truth.

This is the first story in the book, and was inspired by the obvious, how veterans are bombarded by the word "help" constantly, to the point it's almost a weapon against them.
