In the latest Book Club Tadd and Peter follow Susan fleeing her aunt onto The Drop to her private place where Roland follows her and consoles her. Then duty and honor are finally thrown to the wind and they two finally give into their desires. All the while Rhea watches, but is interrupted and Musty pays for it. Then Susan finally follows the final orders given to her by Rhea. Then Roland hypnotizes her to figure out what happened but has minimal success. And Cordelia meets Jonas in town and later is suspicious of Susan and thinks she bears closer watching.

In the latest Book Club Tadd and Peter find Susan working herself to exhaustion to avoid a sleepless night, then Sheemie delivers a note to Roland from Susan setting up a meeting near Citgo, when they meet they kiss meanwhile on Cöos Hill we see Rhea looking through the Wizard's Glass and spying on Susan. Then we follow Roland and Susan into Citgo where they explore it seeing signs of the Coffin Hunters work, and Roland reveals his real name to her, and they begin to kiss and Susan internally gives up honor and promises to let Ka and Roland take her, when she feels Rhea watching.

Susan is "gifted" a horse she used to own from the Mayor, and she trades clandestine notes with Alain and Cuthbert about meeting with Roland at Citgo for an important matter, but she says no. And the distrust and resentments about Susan grown with Alain and Cuthbert (far more in the case of the latter).
